Brayden

I adore Monday mornings, so peaceful and quiet since I get up at 3 every morning. My morning routine consists of drinking shakes, doing a 1 hour workout, occasionally showing a one night stand to the door, then brush up on some paperwork.

I just signed a deal to be the new owner of an accounting company in Manhattan. Their books were looking a bit rattled, I'm not a conceited man but if I didn't step in they would have most definitely gone under.

I also own the hospital in which my bestfriend is the chief surgeon of the cardiology department.

Some would wonder how did I accumulate this much success, while some would simply assume it came easy because I come from a wealthy family.

They couldn't be further from the truth.

My parents are indeed rich, entitled, selfish and the list goes on. But I was cut off a few years back because I decided not to follow my father's dream of what he wanted my career to be.

The Robert Williams.

He wanted me to join the family business in whatever the fuck it is that they do, which I'm guessing is as corrupt as he is. I was not interested, I wanted to pave my own path and generational wealth.

Let's just say my dear father was not too happy about me declining his offer to work for him. Seeing that I'm their eldest son.

My mum on the other hand, is more soft spoken a bit too much I would say. She allows dad to walk all over her not including her in any decision making.

Therefore any decision he makes is also her decision by default.

My father would normally say out of his 3 children, I would be the one running to them for help in the long run. Oh how he was wrong, now they both call to tell me how proud they are and I of course tell them to piss off.

I have 2 siblings, a younger brother and sister I bloody adore them. They have always stood up for me to my parents and that takes a lot of courage but they did it anyway.

My sister lives in France, and my younger brother lives in Los Angeles. They visit from time to time, mostly to tell me to settle down all that nonsense about me being 31 without a wife and kids.

I suppose they do have a point, but I have never met a decent woman who carries herself with class and grace. When women look at me all they see is a walking dollar sign and I refuse to be at their dispense.

So I do what I do best, I do business that never seems to fail me.

I should go out this weekend, I have been working nonstop I'm beginning to get a little stressed.

As I was about to call my best mate, to ask if he'd accompany me this weekend for a little guy's night out I saw his name appear on my phone.

"Hey Tate, I was just about to ca-".

"Sorry to cut you man, but my patient that I was telling you about she finally got approved for the transplant I can't believe it", he said out of breath.

He's been beating himself up about this for weeks, I'm glad it worked out.

"That's good man, I'm passing Lori's and I was thinking we could have a guys night out this weekend, workload's got me fucked and hey we could celebrate your patient finally being approved".

"Of course you know I'm down, I have a favor to ask though and before you say no just remember I'm your bestfriend of 10 years".

Here we fucking go.

"Tate, don't start".

"Could you pick up Jem today, I have a 6 hour surgery Bray".

Jem?
