Maroline shippers must die

2:00 p.m.

"Cough, Maroline, cough!" one of the football players said, passing by Michael and I in the hallway. I rolled my eyes, trying not to show my annoyance. It's not like that guy would even know my name if it wasn't for this stupid Maroline thing. I'm not mad at Ashton... but I do blame him. Since he started dating Heather from music class he's grown a lot more in popularity. He doesn't act different, he's still Ashton... it's just when he says something, other people catch on. When Kerry told him about Michael and I's ship name, he immediately was set on never calling us by our real names again.

"Pda." A kid called out as we continued walking to science. Michael looked at me, rolling his eyes.

"We're not even doing anything," he whispered as we got to the door.

"What took you two so long?" Someone yelled from the back of the class.

"Our table was dismissed last." Michael answered, not hiding the annoyance in his voice. He looked at me apologetically before sitting down next to Calum, where there were no seats left. That was a jerkish move, though I can't say I blame him. It gets awkward when people ship you 24/7. I took an open desk close to Meg. She handed me a folded piece of paper and I read

Ur baes a douche... but you got me ;)

I smiled reading the messy handwriting.

I'd be mad... but he's too cute ;) glad I gots mes chica tho

I wrote back, handing the paper to her.

You wanna meet some hawties at the beach later? ;)

She continued.

Can't... Michael and I... biology project

I replied, letting my eyes wander to where he was laughing with Calum. I wonder if he was really having a better time with him or if he was pretending like I was.

3:00 p.m.

After school I met Michael in the courtyard like normal. I tried to be happy but honestly I was kind of mad at him. He got so annoyed with everyone shipping us. I mean I get it, they were annoying, but not that bad. And he denies he has feelings for me every time someone ask. I didn't mean to say it but somehow it just came out.

"Are you toying with me?" I ask, when he sat next to me.

"What do you mean?"

"Toying with me Michael. You act like you care about me and then when somebody ask, you act like you don't know me."

"I-"

"If you like me, tell me, okay? I'm not just gonna sit here forever waiting for you to make up your mind about whether or not you want to go out with me!" I didn't know where all that had even come from, but it'd already been said, I couldn't take it back now.

"Caroline I-I mean I... I think we should just be friends," he said, looking at the ground. I couldn't believe it. After everything we've been through and he wanted to be friends. Just friends don't look at each other that way, they don't hold hands or behind hug or act anything like Michael and I do.

"Well I'm sorry but you don't deserve my friendship" I said, my voice quivering as I walked away from him. And the next few days were hell.
