"Times up"

"Wait, what?..."

"Your times up Dream"

"No... Please no, just give me-"

"No, you've had plenty of time to dothis. First we gave you a decade. But you wasted it on destroying puny townsand villages instead of big kingdoms. Thenyou got another decade but even then you wasted it on messing around. You thenmanaged to have us give you another decade to finish this but STILL you failed. And finally somehow you got another week and I told you when you got it thatthis was it. Either you do it in that week or you lose everything and forgetabout joining us. Your mission was to simply destroy a big kingdom or killtheir ruler, we gave you a decade because you told us of this L, Manburg'sruler and we knew you would need time and that was more than enough. Weshouldn't have given you all that chances. We should've known you would failus."

"No, please listen... The ruler himself will be with me in a couple of days... Ijust need until then, once he comes I can end him and complete this right thenand there. Then I can join you...Please don't... don't take this away... it's all Ihave..."

"No this is it Dream, You had more thanenough goddamn time to do this and knew that this is what would happen if youdidn't do this. It's too late. Be ready. Soon you'll lose those powers, youdon't deserve them. You will no longer be Dream."

"NO, PLEASE, I-"

Dream stood up on his bed in alarm. Clenching his face with his hand. 'Times up' this rang through his mind onrepeat. This was it, his last dream before punishment. He got out of bed, almost staggering and falling in the rush to get to the mirror. Looking in ithe saw that his eyes were still green. Dream gave a sigh of relief that wouldonly last for that second. After the dream he saw, he knew sooner or later itwould happen. He would lose everything. He couldn't sleep for the rest of thenight. And spent it lying on the bed and thinking about what he would face. What he had was all going to be taken away and he would be left with nothing.Dream remained in bed dreading the moment.

Tubbo came to give Dream his food and tried to have a normal conversation butseeing him not even get out of bed or say anything, Tubbo left. The day went onand Dream still remained in bed. Tubbo would occasionally come and peek fromthe hall to see if he had gotten up but would leave seeing him not move fromhis position at all. As the evening came Tubbo started to get concerned on whyDream didn't even get up, he contemplated telling Tommy or someone but thoughthe was over reacting. He was about to leave when he heard him.

"Why didn't I do it..."

Tubbo looked back and saw Dream was still in bed but had stood up straight andwas covering his face with his hand. Tubbo entered the cell and sat on the bedbeside him.

"Dream... What's going on?..." Tubbo asked pulling his hand away. He froze to seebright, almost luminous green tears on Dream's cheeks and hand.

"Tubbo, this is it. I'm going to lose everything."

"what?"

"Once I killed my father, my mother saw that I had, in her words 'a potentialto be a proper God and join her in the skies.' for some reason, I wanted tohave that name and all I had to do was to either destroy a advanced kingdom, orkill its ruler. I had a decade given from her to achieve this mission. But Ifailed, I got another 2 more chances and failed. Obviously that kingdom is L,Manburg, no surprise. I got a fourth and last chance a week ago, but I failedthat too yesterday. And for failing it, my price is to give up my title as animmortal."

"wait... so you have to give up your powers?"

"Yeah, I don't know when, but soon I'm going to face everything I have just getpulled away..."

"So you're going to be... a human?"

"I don't know... I don't know if I would even die. *sigh* I should've done itwhen I had time. She even gave me warnings coming close to the end of the timeI had."

"How did she actually? Talk to you? Did she visit you in a human form orsomething?"

"Dreams. She would talk to me whenever I was dreaming."

"So, the reason your name... its Dream because..."

"Because of that yes, it taunts me every day, wondering if she would talk to meor not. For decades"

"Well, I don't really have anything to say... wait... if you're going to be human...what about your woun-" Tubbo was cut off by Dream who collapsed onto hisshoulder without warning. Not managing to get a grip on Tubbo's shoulder, hefell onto his side on the floor. Dream felt a sharp migraine go through hishead. He felt chills go up and down his body. He felt a level of weakness likehe never had before. Tubbo stared down at Dream as he started to clutch himselfand moan. The areas of his wounds started to take a toll on him too. His handsfelt sore, His head felt like it was being drilled into, his entire torso feltlike it was being clawed out, even his legs that didn't have any wounds feltlike they had been entirely drained of energy. He thought that he wouldactually die. That this was the level of pain and suffer it took to kill animmortal.

Tubbo ran out to call everyone in to the cell. Technoblade, Philza, Tommy andGhostbur followed Tubbo back to the cell. They were met with Dream still on thefloor. Dream could barely see, his vision was blurry but could make out the 5of them standing over him. He's ears rang and all he could hear was a high piercingtone but he could slightly hear what they said. It was really muffled but hecould make out each of them calling out to him.

"Dream... What's wrong? Are you ok?''

"Dream... Wh
at's happening"

"Tommy I need to tell you something..."

"Tubbo what the hell is going on!"

"Is Dream dying?"

Dream saw Ghostbur and remembered the plannedrevival. He thought about how all they wanted was him to bring back one person, and that they were going to lose that chance soon. He wanted to revive Wilbur. To at least let that family have its peace instead of grieving over the chancethey lost. Dream looked up to see everyone talking with Tubbo and asking onwhat was happening. He knew this would be unbearable, the revival itself beingextremely painful but combined with what he was dealing at the moment he knewit would cause a great deal of suffering but wanted to do it anyway.
