Dream took in a deep inhale. The putrid smell filling his lungs.
"*sigh* F**k this..." he stood from his bed and kneeled down beside Tommy. The smell was unbearable. Dream would have to be in contact with the area where the cause of death was and despite how unpleasant or disgusting his flesh was, he placed his hand open on the torso, only flinching a bit out of disgust. Closing his eyes. He started his first ever revival procedure.
=====================================
Tommy opened his eyes to see nothing but a dark void. Looking around he couldn't figure out where he was. And then, he remembered. He remembered what happened. He remembered the explosion, the descent to madness, all the pain, his last view before he left. He remembered he died. Freaking out, Tommy started to run in what seemed to be a never ending void. He couldn't tell if he was going anywhere. There wasn't anything to help him. He continued and came to halt when he saw a glimpse of light in front. Not hesitating he ran towards it. The light started to form into a singular ceiling light over a table. He faced the side of two people sitting by it with a pack of card in their hands.
Wilbur placed a card on the table with a smack. "Ha! You lose mother." He said with a smirk. His opponent, the queen did a small chuckle and grabbed all the cards for a rematch. Tommy stared at what he saw. They didn't seem to notice him standing a bit away.
"M- Mom?..." Both the queen and Wilbur turned their heads to see Tommy standing a few feet away. The queen dropped the cards she was holding and had her eyes wide open to see Tommy. Tommy didn't even know that it was possible for him to see his mother even in the afterlife. He saw Wilbur too and though he had just spent the last few months trying to get him back, seeing that his mother was there, Tommy forgot about Wilbur and went back to when he felt lost without her. Except this time she was there and he could go back to her.
"Tommy?... you- you're here?..." The queen was happy to see her son there but at the same time downhearted that he was here so early. But she left that aside to be able to see someone she last saw 8 years ago "Tommy..." She stood up from her chair and opened her arms out inviting Tommy for a hug. Tommy ran into her and hugged her tight. He was scared at the time, but it was all gone when he finally received the love he had needed for years. Feeling safe in her hug, he felt all the things he had worried over, overwhelm him. Crying on her shoulder he started to go on about everything he suffered on and every time he wished she was there. The queen listened, hurt to know that this young a boy went through all of that. She wished she was there for him.
"MOTHER I- YOU- YOU- DON'T KNOW... HOW MUCH I MISS YOU AND WISHED YOU WERE THERE." He said trying to catch his breath through the tears that clogged his throat. The queen ran her hand through Tommy's hair repeatedly until he started to calm down.
"Its ok Tommy, I wasn't there then, but I am here now, you're not alone Tommy, even in the afterlife, I'm here for you, more than before." She said looking at the same face that she last saw. She went to grab Tommy by the wrist and take him to the table to reunite with Wilbur but noticed something.
"Oh no, Tommy... did you... starve to death?" The queen asked worried. Tommy looked down at his hand and saw he had a mark on the back of it. It was a circle and in the middle was what seemed to be a rotten meat leg. He looked at his mother's hand and saw she had a circle as well with the silhouette of an infant.
"Yeah... I did..." He said looking down.
"Its ok Tommy, It's in the past now, come on, let's go meet your brother." Tommy crashed into Wilbur, over joyed to see him. Wilbur had the symbol of a sword in his circle.
Tommy, Wilbur and the Queen spent all their time by the table. Tommy and Wilbur spent the first few days to tell the queen about the war and tell Wilbur what had happened and about Ghostbur. When Tommy first came there he knew he had infinite time with the queen and Wilbur. That he didn't truly leave them. He may have lost his father, Brother and anyone else he knew, but he knew that eventually he would meet them in the same way his mother and Wilbur met him. They would eventually meet him in the void. Be it years, decades, centuries, Tommy knew he wouldn't lose anyone entirely. He might even, with a few doubts though, meet Dream.
Tommy over time got used to living in the void and would spend his time by the table with Wilbur and the Queen. A few days passed since he came. A few weeks passed, A few months passed. It started to be bland to wake up every day to only spend all the time playing with cards or just sitting around. Tommy thought he would finally have peace in the afterlife, having no worries and only the memory of the time he was alive, but he started to find himself wanting to go back. Though he had Wilbur and The queen right beside him, two people he had wanted to be with for ages, he desired to go back to the world where he could run about and see things. Where he had people to talk to. But there was nothing he could do. Wilbur and the queen had experienced the same thing Tommy did. They had gone through the same phase of missing life, but learnt they couldn't do anything.
================================================
It was a normal game. The 3 were playing a game of go fish. During the game no one said anything apart from anything having to do with the game. It went on and right as Tommy started to feel like he was going to let go the feeling of missing life, something overcame him. He jumped out of his chair dropping the cards and staggered back in a painful scream. Wilbur and the queen ran over to him as he fell to the floor.
"TOMMY, WHATS WRONG!?" The queen asked pulling his hands away. "WHAT-" She froze.
"Uhm... Tommy?..." Wilbur asked looking around him. Green particles and swirls started to emit from around Tommy and spread throughout the three. The bit of light emitting from them making them look like fireflies in the dark void. Tommy, finally noticing them, looked at his hands to see the green start to surround his fingertips. He felt a chill in his stomach and looking down he saw the green wrap around the area. It increased and eventually he started to notice his hands were fading."Wait... I- What's- WHATS HAPPENING!" Tommy screamed out getting up and trying to shake out the magic that surrounded him. Both the queen and Wilbur stood confused on what was happening. But then Tommy knew, He knew somewhere far away a man was bringing a life back from the dead. "Wilbur, Its Dream..." Tommy had told Wilbur and the queen about Dream and his assumed ability to revive anyone and right now Tommy knew he was going to leave them again and go back to life. He was confused on why Dream would be reviving him but he knew at that point he didn't have much time to wonder. "Wilbur, mother, listen, I don't have much time, I'm going to leave you again... I hate to have to leave you but I don't have a choice. Once I go back I promise I will get you back ok?" Tommy said and the two of them nodded, sad to see him go. Tommy looked down and saw that his arms and legs were faded and the green was surrounding him more than ever. This was it. He was going back.
"Wilbur, Mommy... Goodbye... I love you so much. I promise I will either come back, or will bring you back." Tommy said and hugged the three of them together. "I love you too Tommy, See you soon..." The queen said crying to see him leave her again. "Love you Tommy, doesn't matter if you revive me or not, I'll wait until you come back." Wilbur said. Tommy was heartbroken to have to leave them, but at least this time he was able to give a proper goodbye. As Wilbur and the Queen tightened their hug, they felt a soft gush of wind go through them. Clearing their vision, they saw a cloud of green particles where Tommy stood hit the floor and spread around them. Gradually fading until all there was left was the two of them and the black void again. Though he had been there for months, it felt like he left as soon as he came but they knew that at least the petal would have a second chance to grow.
=====================================================================
Dream strained in pain. He knew the energy and power taken for a revival was big, but never thought it would be this big. He swore he could almost feel the power get sucked through his body and arms and into the corpse. It almost felt like something was digging into his head during the process but despite everything he felt, Dream didn't stop, fearing it wouldn't work or worse, go wrong. The entire cell was filled with particles floating about. Majority of it around his hand and the body. Finally after a long struggle Dream saw the particles around his hand get sucked into the now cleaner and pleasant skin. He fell back from his kneel into a lean on the bed legs. His head spun and ached from the process and was unbearable. His right hand felt numb. He had never gone through anything like this before. Dream spent a while rubbing his eyes. The particles around him settled on the floor and disappeared leaving the moonlight be the only source of light again. After a few minutes, he was able to settle down and the pain started to go away. He looked at the body to see if the revival had worked. Tommy's chest moved once again.
=====================================================================
Tommy opened his eyes again. Hoping to see his mother and father looking down on him, in an early and misty morning in the hospital bed. Smiles on their faces to see the blue eyes look at them for the first time, but instead met with a man looking at him in a dark prison cell. Tommy took a while to realize that he was back alive. Once he realized what happened he stood up straight coming face to face with Dream. Tommy looked at his hand to see that the symbol was gone. He didn't feel hungry anymore and if anything was feeling better than ever. Like he had been refreshed. But his mind was anything but. Tommy was a bit sluggish at first but still questioned a lot. Why did Dream revived him? Why did he take such a long time to do it? Did his family get to them yet? He had so many things to ask all at once.
"Tommy? Tommy, you ok?" Dream asked reaching his hand out to help Tommy up. Tommy saw the hand in front of him, the hand that bought him back to life. Dream had revived Tommy, given him another chance, But Tommy couldn't help but not care about what he did and want to know about everyone else. Tommy pushed Dream's offer away and got up himself. Staggering a bit on the sudden stand, he corrected himself on the wall and faced Dream who just stood there looking at him like nothing had happened.
"You back?" Dream asked seeing Tommy stare at him like he was seeing a ghost
"Wh- You- You revived me...You... you fucking revived me..."
"Well of course I did idiot, how else do you think you're here right now." Dream asked acting like it was a normal thing.
"So, the rumors are true... You can revive anyone?"
"Yeah, I can I just need either their spirit or the body. Lucky for you your body was here but I can't lie and say it wasn't unpleasant when it started to fucking rot. Bit disgusting when I had to touch it but, meh was rewarding in the end."
"Why... Why did you revive me though?... Didn't you like hate me or something?"
"I don't know, I just felt like it, now don't question anymore about that."
"wait... What- WHAT ABOUT THE OTHERS!? WHERES FATHER? WHERES- TECHNOBLADE AND GHOSTBUR! WHERES TUBBO. DREAM I DON'T KNOW WHY THE HELL YOU TOOK F**KING 3 MONTHS TO REVIVE ME BUT I DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT! HOWS TUBBO?! HOWS-"
"Tommy... what the hell are you talking about?"
"I WAS IN THERE FOR 3 MONTHS DREAM! 3 F**KING MONTHS. COME ON I GET YOU DON'T KEEP TRACK OF TIME BUT YOU HAVE TO KNOW 3 MONTHS YOU IDIOT"
"Tommy... You were gone for only 3 days."
