Chapter 20: The actions he took
~
"MISTY!" Ash came running into the house, which made Misty look up at him. She was quite thankful that he came back because the book she had in her hand was starting to bore her.
"What's up?" She asked casually, closing the book and keeping it aside.
"You can hide it from me but nothing hides from me, you know that right?" Ash asked her confidently.
"Well, considering how clueless and scared you were just a few days ago over something that was not true, I highly doubt that." Misty remarked, leaving Ash dumbfounded.
He pouted. "Anyway, I know what is today." He told her.
"What is it?" Misty asked him. She didn't expect him to know what event that day held.
"Well, since it's the king and queen's anniversary, preparations are made already. Let's go outside!" Ash told her as he grabbed her hand and walked her outside. Misty was surprised to say the least. She did not expect him to know that.
Outside the house, there were two quite big sized stones kept together, both had a red shiny ribbon on them. Something was written on them.
Misty walked closer to the two stones, eyeing the writing over them. If she was the emotional one, she'd be crying buckets by now.
One of the stones held the word "Karl Seaton" and the other held "Aurora Seaton."
Misty was stunned. She didn't know from which source Ash got to know their names, and their anniversary. Although, she was quite glad about it.
It was very thoughtful of Ash.
Speaking of him, he came beside her, a bouquet of red roses in his hands as he sat down on his knees beside Misty. Ash gently kept the bouquet between the lover's pretend-grave. He got up again, going back a little and respectfully bowing in front of them.
After he sat down, he began speaking.
"I hope you both are in a good place, your highnesses. If you don't know, I'm Ash, the chosen one against my will apparently. Don't worry though, I'm taking very good care of Misty, you can see that if you're watching us right now." Ash spoke sweetly, cracking a joke in between. Misty just chuckled slightly, she was still into the thoughts of her parents.
"And just so you know, I'm very very and very happy that you both were together and gave the world a wonderful gift." Ash continued. Misty looked at him, raising an eyebrow.
"Thank you for giving us a Misty." Ash bowed slightly. Misty wanted to laugh out loud, smack him hard, but she just smiled.
It felt sweet to her. A warm feeling enveloped her heart as she tried to figure out what was happening to her.
Ash stood up again and bowed, grabbing Misty's hand as well and making her bow. She did it without hesitation.
After all, she was a trained princess. She knew those things way better than anyone around.
Misty closed her eyes, thinking of her mom and dad.
"Thank you, Ash."
"Since when is that word between us?" Ash asked, turning to her while raising an eyebrow.
"You're making it sound like that's a bad word." Misty smirked slightly.
"Well, consider it as one. There's no thank you's or sorry's between us." Ash stated, making Misty look at him with a soft face.
"Now, I'm gonna ask you to help me with these." Ash said as he picked up the stone with Misty's mother's name on it. "We're taking them inside, to the hallway."
"Okay." Misty gladly obliged. She picked up her father's stone and followed Ash. After managing to go down with those heavy stones and resting them inside a room which Ash found out to be grand but Misty clearly didn't, they came back up again. She found out that Lucas was the one to tell Ash it was her parent's anniversary. He must've met him somewhere.
"Oh! I almost forgot." Ash said, while fetching something out of his pocket. Misty waited for him to say further.
"This." Ash held the paper in front of her.
"The Wood's Masquarade?" Misty asked him, unbothered.
"Yes! It's in a week, and we're going." Ash stated, without asking her.
"We?" Misty asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes."
"Make that you."
"No."
"Ash."
"Misty."
"I'm not going."
"Then me neither."
"Great."
"But I wanna go." Ash whined like a baby while he fell on his eyes for some extra added effect, showing Misty his signature puppy eyes.
"Do as you please." Misty answered him.
"Come on, Misty. Why don't you enjoy for once?" Ash stood up and asked her, hands on his hips.
"There's nothing special about the masquerade." Misty told him.
"There has to be something. Besides, since I'm here, let's enjoy it together! With masks on and everything!" Ash told her cheerfully.
"But-"
"No but's. No body will acknowledge you either. Come on now." Ash pouted.
Misty sighed. "Fine then, we'll go."
"As you should. Loosen up a bit." Lucas said, coming into the living room.
Ash looked at Misty, thinking 'Does he always barge in without notice like that?' to which Misty nodded.
"It won't be a problem anyway." Lucas added. "Anyway, Misty, I have something for you."
~
"No Ash, you're not going back there." Misty stated as she folded her hands, looking at a dressed up Ash, a bag in his hands carrying more clothes. She had unfortunately caught him down there before going for an investigation with Lucas.
"I'm going, Misty." Ash said as he reached out for the knob of the time travel door.
"No." Misty stated sternly. She wasn't backing off.
"Misty please let me go. I want to start somewhere." Ash told her.
"You can ask me anything you want, but don't go living in there. It's dangerous, Ash." Misty tried to stay calm and get Ash out of his stupid decision.
"That won't work." Ash sighed as he turned the knob. "Bye Misty." He said as he opened the door.
"ASH." Misty yelled as she saw him get sucked into the room. She stood there for a moment, shocked. Not moving at all.
Ash was clueless, very much.
She facepalmed herself, wondering why she wasted so much time talking him out of him rather than just grabbing and tying him up somewhere.
"He didn't listen to you, huh?" Lucas asked from behind her, coming to her side.
"Seems like it, doesn't it?" Misty felt enraged. She hadn't felt that way for some days now, it was peaceful apparently.
"I'm sure he'll come back." Lucas told her.
"Lucas, he's staying there. I don't know when or why that idea popped up in his mind but it's not a good one. You know what would happen if he stayed." Misty told him sharply.
"I do, I do." Lucas sighed in defeat.
"And it's more problematic because I can't do anything about it." Misty tsked.
"Well, all we can do now is hope."

Um, hey there! :D
