Part 15.

Hearing the sound of beeping, I slowly opened my eyes but the light was so damn bright I groaned and closed them.
"Lils...." I heard a soft voice that sounded like my dad. Turning my head carefully I opened my eyes once more and was met by the matching pair that stared at me with concern. A small tear slipped from his eyes as he jumped up and embraced me in a hug.
"Dad...." I whispered.
"What is it babe?" He asked as he let go.
" I can't feel my legs" I replied with tears forming, he looked at me for a moment with sadness before he spoke.
"I know Lils...but it's only temporary" he said forcing a smile on his face as he ran his hand through my hair. I looked at him for answers, I wanted to know why I was feeling this way, I needed to know what happened.
"You fractured your back in the accident and had some internal bleeding. You had surgery but the doctors said that once you're healed we can get you into therapy to get you back on your feet..." he couldn't finish as I continued to nod my head while the tears turned into sobs.
"Where's Jake?" I asked crying into his shoulder.
"In the room down the hall with his dad. He broke his neck but he'll be alright." He replied looking at me as I wiped my eyes.
"I'm so sorry" I said not being able to look at him. He let out a sigh and moved my chin to face him.
"Look at me, this was neither of your faults. You guys had the green and someone ran the red light. You couldn't control that" I nodded my head before looking around me and noticing my wheelchair next to the bed.
"Do I have to use it...." I asked him
"Yes, for right now you do. Hopefully for only a month or so..." my eyes went wide.
"A month?! What about school?"
"You're going to do your school work from home while you recover..." we were interrupted by a knock on the door as a nurse appeared with a smile on her face.
"Hi Lily...did you want to try and get out of bed today?" She asked me as I tried my best to smile back at her.
"Yeah...yeah I guess" I replied as I tried to push myself up by my arms a little. She walked over as my dad moved out of her way.
"Alright Mr. Rose, I'm going to show you how to get her stable on the side of the bed to lift her into the chair ok?" She said over to my dad as he looked at her nodding.
"First, you're going to have her sitting up or propped up. Since she's already sitting up fairly well, you're going to wrap an arm under both of hers supporting her back while you slowly and carefully move both of her legs over the side of the bed." The women demonstrated each movement as my dad learned what to do to help me.
"Once you have her on the edge of the bed, keeping one arm under hers wrapped around her back, you'll place the other arm under her knees and gently pick her up sitting her in the chair. Make sure the wheels are locked. After she's in she's good to go! When she's ready to get out then you would just pick her up the same and sit her back in the bed" she placed me in the chair making sure I was comfortable before my dad walked behind me after thanking her and began wheeling me out of the hall. I didn't say much as I just looked around at everything, I really had nothing to say honestly, I was just trying to get a mental hold on not being able to do things for myself for the time being.
"Lily...." I heard pulling me from my thoughts as I looked up stone cold seeing Duff and Slash walking down the hall. I didn't reply or even change my facial expression as they walked over to me, both bending down giving me a hug as Duff handed me flowers.

Growing concerned, they looked at my dad who shook his head. I spotted Jakes room so I took it upon myself to leave the guys and wheel myself to his door. Tears began to fall down my cheeks seeing him asleep, his face bruised with cuts down his arms while the brace sat firmly around his neck. I took the flowers from my lap and sat them on the table next to his hospital bed, grabbing his hand for a few seconds, I whispered 'I love you' to him before wheeling back to the door.
All three men stood there watching me from the door frame as I looked down wheeling to leave the room.
"Lily...." Slash said low and soft trying to get my attention but I just ignored him and made my way back to my room.

I just couldn't do this right now.
