The breeze was cool against your skin as you walked hand in hand with your boyfriend across the street. It was a calm day for a date, and you were glad that for once you hadn't had to cancel because of your heavy dislike for rain; contrary to Lovecraft, who loved the rain. Several times he'd tried to coerce you into getting drenched with him in the heavy showers that frequented the city, but so far he was unsuccessful.

Well, clearly this was an outdoor date, otherwise he wouldn't have told you not to worry about the weather - despite his desperate insistence, he respected your opinions. For that you were extremely grateful - many of your past lovers had disregarded your clear discomfort, so Lovecraft was a breath of fresh air in terms of the space and consideration he gave.

Not to mention his absolutely stunning looks. The noon light illuminated his pale skin, the sun's dappled rays gentle against the contours of his face. His eyes were as dark, mysterious and mesmerising as they could ever be and oh, his hair - long and midnight-blue, it fluttered in the wind as he walked purposefully with you, matching your pace. His hand in yours was firm, cool and comforting, swinging your arm with his as you walked.

God, he was exquisite.

He was so completely your type, not to mention considerate, curious and charming all at once. The total package and you ached with need for his company. Maybe you'd get to keep him for as long as you wanted, all to yourself...

He glanced at you. You saw a tinge of pink dust his cheeks before he flicked his gaze away. Was that a blush? Or maybe just the cool autumn breeze?

You smiled and moved a little closer to him. His fingers tightened around yours as you continued down the street.

The sound of children's laughter filled your ears as you stood outside the gates of the funfair. Your hand was still in Lovecraft's, but his grip was slightly looser as he gazed at the many people who bustled about the grounds, moving between the many brightly painted rides and food stands. The azure blue sky accentuated his hair that ruffled thoughtlessly in the light breeze, his smoky gray eyes fixated by the constant movement and hubbub of the crowds.

"A funfair?" You looked up at him inquisitively. He usually avoided crowded areas and so shopping dates had become almost non-existent (unless you were doing it online or at some sequestered marketplace).

"The ferris wheel... is...very nice..." His head tilted as he spoke, absorbed in the slow turning of the wheel in the far distance, "Hypnotic..."

You're the most mesmerising, compelling, bewitching, absolutely fascinating being here - that ferris wheel holds only a fraction of your perfection- "Well then, should we try that one first?" Stamping out your monologue, you swapped a handful of coins for some tokens and led Lovecraft into the grounds, heading for the huge blue and white wheel that whirled in the distance.

He gazed up at the wheel - it was admittedly much larger up close than from a distance - and let out a noise of awe. Noticing an empty compartment, he ambled up the stairs to it, tugging you gently by the sleeve and leading you in against the crush of other people. The man in the token cabinet closed the door and, once all the compartments were full, began the wheel. The carriage shuddered before slowly moving up, swaying slightly in the strong winds.

As you settled yourself on one of the benches, Lovecraft moved up next to the window and pressed his face against the glass. His breath steamed up the pane as he blinked at the ground, slowly getting further and further away as the compartment moved up.

You smiled.

Lovecraft wasn't exactly a very talkative partner, which suited you, but you couldn't help that twinge of pain when you saw the way other couples interacted and communicated. Between you two, it was quiet dates and intimate moments in the comfort of your shared home. But for now, you were happy with your mutually soft affection and you had no intention of moving further until he gave the go-ahead.
