She stood there for hours, she hadn't realised it.
The stars had changed positions.
Her eyes had followed them.
The voice in her head had followed her too.
It kept reminding her, they were about to sink.
They'd be gone in a while and she'd be alone again.
The clouds came closing, hiding the diamonds in their blanket,
She stood there, watching them disappear, realising they were gone, they were right.
But she still stood there,
Waiting, hoping, praying.
Something to happen, anything.
Soon the hope was ebbing away
She turned her gaze away,
There! She saw it, that twinkle.
She knew it, Her eyes searched the endless abyss for sparkling gems.
Soon she saw them, the wind was blowing the clouds away.
It was dark, but the crystals glowed brightly enough to colour her marred skin.
The scars gleamed and she shined,
Had eyes seen her they would have seen her sublime beauty, hidden away in the dark abyss of sparkling gems.
