It wasn't a special number like others, but to her it seemed like a dream come true.
It had just been a small shine, she had seen it from the corner of her eye.
What were the chances?
Her disbelief burst through.
It had been years since she had been able to see a shooting star.
Four years to be exact.
Next thing she knew, she felt a wet sob leave her.
It was a relief, she hadn't been given up on, her wish still existed.
Maybe it was going to be a better day today.
It certainly seemed like one this very moment.
The air was clear, crisp and cold; and for a while she felt alive.
The muffled cry, it was better than a silent scream.
Today was better already.
