"Riven, this is boring and we are both tired as hell. Can we stop this for a little bit?" Oakley stopped fighting Riven and jumped down so she was sitting down on the platform.
"Oakley please. If I can't beat a first year then I'm, going to get expelled."Riven sounded desperate at this point.
"Riven, you do realize I grew up with two specialists right? I'm not going to be as rusty as a first year. I'm basically at your level which shouldn't matter. You need to be able to win a fight against someone at the same level or higher than you."Oakley had to convince Riven to practice more and not just try and win every regular fight without training first.
"It's also not fair because you have your powers." Musa mentioned to Oakley and she nodded her head."Exactly. I have an advantage which I did not use but I still have. You need to be prepared to fight anyone and anything, we are the first line of defense remember?"
"Which is why I'm trying to get you to train with me more. You don't attempt to give me the 'big brother speech' that the other two do.""I don't give the big brother speech because I'm younger than you, I'm a girl and I also get those speeches so i understand how annoying they can be. I'll train with you extra and even get some of my friend to help so you'll be prepared for different things."
She sighed and finished her bottle of water before looking up towards everyone else, who seemed to be leaving the training area.
"Musa, do you think you and the other girls will be able to help me with Riven?" Oakley asked her friend and she hesitated at first not knowing how to respond but eventually nodded her head."Yeah I think we could help." Musa was nervous and really didn't want to talk to him, so she avoided it as much as possible.
"Thanks guys. It's getting late so we might have to start this tomorrow. Oh and Oakley, please don't tell your brother or Brandon."She nodded her head at Riven and watched as he walked away from the two girls.
"you did good. You almost spoke to him that time." Oakley nudged her friend who just stared at the girl."Yeah, yeah, whatever. Let's just go, I don't want to miss dinner." Musa started walking off without Oakley and the girl didn't notice.
"Are you coming with me or what?" Musa yelled once she was a little bit away and that was when Oakley realized that Musa walked off without her.she ran to catch up with Musa and once she did the two girls walked at a steady pace towards the main building so that Oakley could quickly head to the dorm room and get changed out of her training uniform.
"Do I want to put some effort in or do I just want to put on some sweatpants and a shirt?" Oakley asked Musa once the two girls had made their way inside their shared room.
"Just wear something casual. You don't want to have to get your good clothes dirty and wear them for like an hour."Oakley agreed with the girl and so she just put on some black sweatpants and a plain grey
t-shirt.
"You think this is good enough?" She asked her friend once she got changed out of her training uniform and Musa nodded her head at the girl."Alright let's go. All that training and classes really made my hungry." Oakley mentioned and soon enough the two girls were out of their room and headed towards the hall so they could get some food.
Once they made it to the hall, the two girls spotted their other friends seated at a table with their food already.
"Hey where have you two been?" Aisha asked once she spotted the girls."We'll tell you once we get our food and sit down." So the girls walked past and went to the food line. They were slightly late so there weren't many people in line. They got served their food of choice and headed back to the table.
"Sorry we are late ladies." Musa smiled towards everyone and sat down next to Terra and Bloom.
"Care to tell us where you were now?" Aisha asked once again."Riven made me train with him all afternoon because he knows he's been slacking off." Oakley stated once she sat down next to Aisha.
"We all also have to help him train because he knows that it will be a challenge. Besides, we have nothing better to do yet anyway." The girl finished."So he's struggling and you suggested we throw more challenges at him? Are you trying to kill the boy?" Aisha asked again.
"I didn't really think about that part. I just knew that he's like family to me and I don't want him expelled from school."Oakley was just trying to look out for her friend.
"So how was everyone else's afternoons?" Musa asked seeing as they had only talked about what her and Oakley had done."I went for a quick swim. I kinda needed to cool down after our conversation at lunch." Aisha said. She seemed really talkative which was something that Oakley was okay with. She liked having other people talking because it meant that she didn't have to.
"I started to make that zanbaq thing that makes the thing drowsy. I still have to wait for something to do tomorrow though." Terra explained. She seemed really excited to be a part of something seeing as for a while it had only been her and Oakley.
"Well, Sky came to talk to me and then I needed to do something to get my mind off of the ring so I went to practice at the bowl but then Stella showed up and I actually managed to get something done."
Everyone at the table was very proud of Blooms achievements, even if Stella had been the one to teach her how to control her powers.
"It's good that your learning to control and manage your powers." Oakley smiled at her friend. Not long after that conversation, an announcement was made over the speakers all around the school to get everyone to go to bed. So the group started to walk out of the hall and towards the dorm rooms.
"Oakley, I love the style. Comfy and casual." Bloom laughed at her friends fashion choice and soon everyone else was as well.
"Well I was in my training gear and I couldn't be fucked changing into some jeans or something like that, plus I can sleep in these clothes."She smiled towards her friends and the 5 finally made their way to the dorm suite. They all split off and went into their designated rooms. everyone except Oakley. She wanted to make sure that Stella got into her room soon so that she could go to bed as well.
Not long after everyone went to bed, Stella walked through the front door of the dorm.
"You're still awake?" She asked Oakley once she closed the door and put her purse down.
"I was waiting for you to get in. I didn't want everyone to think that you were missing again." She smiled at Oakley."Thank you for caring about me."
"I may not show if often but I've known you long enough to care about you. You are my friend after all." Stella hugged Oakley and the two said their final goodnights and walked into their rooms before quickly going to sleep.
