"Why the hell am I even here? Can you really not take down a baby vampire, Damon?" Colden asked
he gets ignored....sometimes Colden would really like to show who he really is. People are terrifyed of his very name but this shit head just thinks oh it's just Colden
"We should be in there" Damon finally said
"No, Isobel made it clear we're not to step foot inside" Alaric pointed out
"I can't believe we're listening to what she says" Colden mutters "You know I can and will kill her inside the Grill"
"What if Caroline was there?" Damon asked
"Neither of you are killing her period!"
"She ruined your life and you still want to protect her?" Damon asked
"She's my wife" Alaric said receiving a look from them "was my wife. I looked for the woman I married but she wasn't there. Whoever that is, she's cold and detached"
"Yeah, she's given up her humanity" Damon added
"Yeah, see, I don't get that. Stefan has his humanity, he's a good guy. And you're a dick and you kill people. Even with Colden I can see humanity when he's with Caroline. But with her there was...nothing"
"vampires can turn it off -- like a switch" Colden told "Most want them off because it's just easier. Stefan likes to hurt himself so he wants the whole experience."
"You two haven't" Alaric said
"I spent hundreds of years without any humanity" Colden told "I did things that would make even the worse serial killer you can think of throw up"

"You're going to see your mom...right now" Caroline asked
"Yes" Colden said "I haven't seen her in months. I'll be back tomorrow to get on that float with you"
she sighed, "And I can't come"
Colden approaches grabbing her hands in his, "I love you but I am not ready for you to meet my mom. There are a million steps from now till then"
she still pouting, "Why not"
"My mom is not right in the head" he told her "You can meet my uncles sometime if you wish and all my friends"
a smile arises "Okay"
Colden kisses her then drives off with his motorcycle

"She is not doing well" the guy said "She speaks of you a lot"
he opens the door to where Colden will be meeting his mother
"Mother" Colden said when he walked in
she looked up, smiled, and attacked him with a hug
"You haven't been back here since May"
"I know" Colden kissed her cheek "I'm sorry. I moved to a new town and was starting a new life. That's no excuse"
"I want to know everything" she said leading him to the mats where there suppose to sit "How's Astrid"
"She's good" he answers "She wanted to come but got wrapped up in some high school thing she's doing"
