After hours of mom under supervision with nurses and doctors they told us we were fine to go home and come back tomorrow morning. I refused, I didn't drive at 4am just to be told to go home, doctors can kiss my ass. I sent Sophie home in case Cat came back wondering where everyone is, I've took some time to think on it and I don't think my mom knows what's she's doing. She's smart but not as smart as she looks or sounds apparently to still be with this man, not even man, overzealous asshole. So I'm gonna have to be here for a couple of days just to make sure she's okay and if Arthur does come back I'm killing him. Soon as we get out of here I'm gonna have to call Riki or Lou to tell them I won't be in, great just got this job and I could be fired already after a few weeks. Can anything else in my life be more fucked than it already is; lost my best friend, the other one almost damn near died, or did and now I could be looking for another place of work again

"Ms Vaughan?" hearing a nurse knock then come in

"Please never call me that again, Evelyn is more than enough and appreciated"

"Sorry, there's someone here but they aren't necessarily family. They say they are however the name doesn't come up"

"Man or woman?" that's weird, Sydney wouldn't have came down here

"Man, long dark brown-

"Oh fuck me no" groaning rubbing my face

"I'm sorry?"

"Let him up it's fine, he's family...just the situation is weird but he's family" nodding preparing myself

I haven't spoken to Tommy in weeks so this is definitely not something I had planned on my agenda, was gonna happen eventually one day so looks like I'm early on time. Moving around to check my mom if she's still conscious and not in a coma, the door is opened and closed within seconds seeing Tommy come in

"What happened to her, why didn't you call me Evelyn?"

"Shut up" shushing him quickly "She's resting, had some head trauma so mild concussion"

"Her eye is swollen and a little bruised, how is that a concussion did she fall or some shit?"

"Don't worry about it, she'll be fine. Why are you here, I didn't call you or anything. No scratch that, how did you even know where I was this minute are you stalking me or something?"

"Whoa, one question at a time short stack" he laughs as if I'm joking but this is not a joking time for me

"Are you high right now?"

"No" he shakes his head confused

"Are you sure, because you seem to find this scenario funny. I don't find it fucking funny Tommy, my mom is in the hospital"

"Okay okay wait this is getting out of hand, I am asking what happened but you're going off on me" surrendering even more confused

"Why are you even here?!" losing my temper I see my mom stirring and mentally scream in my head

"Evelyn honey why are you screaming what's the matter?" seeing her sit up

"No mom just go back to sleep or not no, I think it's time to check your vitals again"

"Tommy hello, when did you get here?"

"He was just-

"Are you alright Mrs V, what happened?" He talks over me moving to her

"Just a misunderstanding but I'm fine, can you guys please not shout and scream my head is hurting. Also I don't want a scene to be caused with the nurses and doctors"
