Chapter 14
~Jerome~
I got to Nolan's hospital room, where he was already changed out of his hospital gown and into his regular clothes. Everything that he brought or that was given to him was all packed, ready to go.
The moment Nolan noticed me, he hurried over, wrapping his arms around my shoulders and pulling me in for a kiss. I kissed him back, smiling through the kiss at how happy Nolan always was to see me.
When he pulled away, I noticed that he was smiling, though he did look a bit pale. I stroked his cheek. "Are you feeling okay?" I asked.
"Yeah," Nolan said. "Well, as okay as I can be. Even though I got the all clear to recover at home instead of the hospital, there are going to be some issues I have to deal with." He tapped the heavy bags under his eyes. "Excessive fatigue, for one thing, so... Probably no dancing for a while. Again."
"Hey," I said softly. "Just think, you've recovered before and were able to get back into dancing eventually. I'm sure you'll be able to dance again soon. Besides, I have a surprise for you."
"Is it sex?"
"No, but I'd be up to doing that once we have some alone time. I do want to show you the surprise right away, though, and I really think it's one that you'll like. And before you ask again, no, it's not sex, you horny person."
Nolan huffed, grabbing his stuff so we could leave the hospital. He was struggling a bit to carry everything, so I helped him out.
We left the hospital and headed outside to where my car was. After placing all of Nolan's things in the backseat, the two of us got into the front. "So, like I said, I want to show you the surprise," I said. "We'll head there first before we go home. Unless you just want to go home. Then I can show it to you later."
Nolan shook his head. "No, I'd like to see what this surprise is. But question. Is it better than sex?"
"I'd like to think so," I said, still surprised that sex seemed to be the only thing on Nolan's mind the past few days. Or weeks. Or months. Yeah, I was definitely to blame for this. I think all the time I said I was going to fuck him really stuck in his mind.
I started up the car and pulled out of the parking lot, driving towards the place I was really excited to show Nolan. I definitely think he needed it, not only mentally but as something to help benefit his career as an artist. He hadn't really done anything besides the two murals the mayor hired him to do.
I soon pulled up to the building, parking the car near it. Nolan just looked out the window, his eyes furrowing. "A building? Wow. What a surprise. This is so cool."
"It's what's inside the building, Nolan," I said, turning off the car.
The two of us got out of the car and headed towards the front door. However, since it was locked, I had to use my pair of keys to unlock it. "Ooh, I man with power," Nolan said, referring to the fact that I had keys to the building. "Me likey."
"You are just something else, aren't you?" I said. "Now, just a heads up before we go in, it's not exactly... clean. But I'll explain it a bit more once you see everything."
Nolan nodded. I opened the door and the two of us walked in. I immediately reached for the light switch, shining the lights on the studio. There was dust and cobwebs everywhere, indicating this place wasn't really taken care of. Probably why I got such a steal on this place.
The dust wasn't the only thing that made this place seem unappealing. The broken blinds on the windows, the scuffed up flooring, the wall chipping, some of the ceiling lights being broken.
"Like I said, it's not exactly clean," I said. "And it will take a bit of work to repair this place, but it's a studio for us. Art studio. Dance studio. Whatever you want."
"R-Really?" Nolan asked.
"Yeah," I said. "I figured this would give you the space to work on even bigger canvases. Ones that you couldn't really fit back home. And because this is such a big space, you probably don't have to worry about getting paint everywhere."
Nolan was silent for a bit, looking around the studio. Eventually, he just threw his arm around my shoulders, peppering me with kiss. "Thank you, thank you, thank you," he said between kisses, a huge smile on his face.
I laughed before wrapping my arms around Nolan's waist, pulling him closer to me before pressing my lips onto his. Nolan, both surprisingly and unsurprisingly, started lifting up my shirt as the kiss started to get hectic.
I pulled away from Nolan. "Nolan."
"What?"
"Not here."
"Why? This is a public space."
"Look around. You really want to have sex when there's duct and cobwebs everywhere? I wouldn't be surprised if there were spiders crawling all over the place as well."
"On second thought, I'm good. Totally not horny right now. In fact, I kind of want to go home and nap for a very long time where there aren't any spiders."
I smiled at him and kissed him one more time. "Don't worry, I'll get started on all the dust and cobwebs on my own before I get you to help me fix up this place. I can probably bribe Brandon to help me."
"And then once it's all cleaned up, we can have sex."
"You know what? The cards are definitely on the table."
Nolan kissed my cheek before the two of us left the studio, locking it behind us before heading home for a nap. A nice, long nap. Unless nobody was home. Then Nolan would want to have sex instead, which I was definitely up for.
