Chapter 42

~Jerome~

"You don't have school today, do you?" I asked Nolan as he was eating his breakfast consisting of at least a dozen pieces of bacon and one sunny-side up egg. I was just glad I didn't get nauseous looking at the food. I was doing a lot better. Sometimes, my mind would tell me I need to skip meals again and exercise more, but I try my best to push through it.

Nolan stares at me as he stops putting the piece of bacon he's holding in his mouth. "Jerome. It's ten in the morning. I'm pretty sure I would have been to school already."

"Yeah, but there's some days where you miss first and second period because you need a mental health day."

"Oh. Yeah, that's a fair point. But, no, I don't have school today. Why, do you wanna have sex?"

"I do, but that's not why I'm asking," I say. "I was just wondering if you wanted to go to my school's campus today. Since you're going there in the fall, I can give you a tour and all that stuff. I can even show you the best places to bang."

Despite Nolan constantly asking me for sex, his cheeks reddened at the mention of us having sex on campus. "What? N-No, that's inappropriate. We can't do that."

"I'm teasing," I said. "But what do you say to the tour on campus? They usually have orientations for new students but if you sign up, they place you with other people who are in similar courses as you. I know how iffy you are around new people so..."

Nolan smiled at me. "Say no more. I'd rather have you give me a tour. Orientation is cool and all, but there's no point in me going if I have someone who can give me a tour. Someone who I can sneak off with somewhere to make out."

"So you're not okay with me insinuating we'll have sex on campus, but you'll fully welcome us making out together."

"Uh, making out in public is different than sex. I'm pretty sure we can get arrested for public indecency."

I ruffled Nolan's hair. "I know. I just like teasing you. How about we go around lunch time? That way, we can also get some lunch there."

       "Sounds like a plan."

Nolan ended up deciding to go take a nap when he was done with his breakfast, telling me to wake him up when I was ready to go on campus. Instead of going upstairs, he just headed on the couch to nap with Daisy, claiming that his bedroom was too far.

Honestly, I didn't blame him. There were times where I just wanted to nap where I was instead of making it to my bedroom.

A bit after one in the afternoon, I shook Nolan awake. He swatted my hand away a few times before finally fully waking up. He rubbed his eyes before sitting up. "Can we have a quickie before heading to campus?"

"Wow, you're just insatiable, aren't you?" I said. I grabbed onto his hand and helped him stand up from the couch. "Maybe later."

Nolan and I leave the house and get into my car so I could drive us to the university's campus. It was close enough that we could walk there, but Nolan was already complaining about having to move his feet too much. Besides, the weather wasn't that great. For me, that is. It was running quite a bit, which Nolan absolutely loved, but I wasn't too fond of walking in the rain.

Once we get onto the campus, I said, "So what building do you want to check out first? The building all the art classes are in? The main building? The school store?"

Nolan thought for a bit. "The art one. If I went to the school store, I'd probably end up buying a few snacks. Or a lot of snacks. My snack drawer is almost empty."

"Didn't you just refill it yesterday?" I asked.

"Yeah, and I only had, like, one bag of chips, so it's almost empty."

"I wouldn't consider that almost empty."

I intertwined Nolan's hand in mine before leading him to the building that had all the art classes and studios in. A lot of art students could be found here even if there wasn't an official class. They paid to be at the school. Might as well make good use of the studio.

Nolan's eyes light up as soon as he sees the art studio. It wasn't exactly like the studio I owned. That one was more of a multi-purpose studio for dancing and art. This one, however, was only for art. Painting, sculpturing, photography. Nolan might only focus on painting and drawing most of the time, but I had seem some other things he has done in the past. This would be great for him to get back into it.

"I can already tell you're excited," I said to Nolan as he looked around. "Does this calm your nerves about starting here?"

"A bit," Nolan said. "I'll probably still use our studio more if I can since it's closer to home, but I can definitely see myself coming here if I need a change of scenery or some sort of inspiration. If only I could start coming here now since my paintings are still incomplete."

"I could get Brandon to forge you a fake student ID so you can come here," I said.

Nolan furrowed his eyebrows. "Has he made fake IDs before?"

"What?" I asked. "No. Definitely not. He totally don't have fake IDs. None whatsoever."

       "Jerome..."

"I mean, not anymore. I'm twenty. I'm old enough to buy alcohol now. Not that I do, anyway. I still try to stay away from it. So... Fake student ID?"

Nolan shook his head. "No, I'm good. What if I get caught? Like a professor comes in and notices I'm not a student at this school. Am I even allowed in here right now?"

"Yeah, the school is pretty much open to the public," I said. "As long as you're not disruptive, nobody cares. We have high school students come to our Timmies all the time for lunch. You're with me, anyway."

       "I want Timmies."

"You don't want to try the cafe or something? We can get Timmies anywhere."

"But I like the hazelnut hot chocolate."

"I know you do, but like I said, we can get it anywhere. We can even get it on the way home if you want. I just think you might want top try out the cafe first."

"Hmm... Yeah, I'll try out the cafe. Right now. I'm hungry."

Even though no one was really near us, I leaned close to Nolan's ear and whispered, "And I'm hungry for you," just to see him get all flustered.

It worked. His cheeks burned as he gently pushed me away. "D-Don't say stuff like that in public!" He started walking away form me.

I followed him. "Oh, come on, no one heard me. You probably would have said it first if we were at home." I held onto his hand. "Please forgive me. We're in love."

"Huh? Oh, I'm not even mad at you. That wasn't even the worst thing you've said in public. I just can't control how flustered I get at times."

       I kissed Nolan's cheek. "I know."
