Chapter 28

~Jerome~

Nolan was the cutest person to have exist. That was a fact. He could probably become a murderer and I would still think he was cute. In fact, I'd probably be an apologist for him. I would explain to everyone why him being a murderer was okay and justified.

Where did this come from? Well, I woke up one day, looked over at Nolan, and see him fast asleep. His hair was sticking up all over the place, despite him not moving much in his sleep. He looked so peaceful too, every facial feature resting without a single care in the world.

I couldn't help but scoot closer to him, gently running my hands through his hair. Nolan was a light sleeper most of the time, so it was no surprise that the little contact woke him up. He tiredly opened his eyes and looked at me, immediately smiling. "Morning."

I smiled back at him. "Good morning. You know, you are very cute when you're sleeping."

"Watching my when you sleep is kind of creepy," Nolan said.

"How much do you want to bet that you've watched me sleep, too?" I asked. I didn't know if Nolan actually looked at me when I slept but if he did, then I knew I would catch him out when he blushed.

Which he did. His cheeks began to redden and the moment I poked his cheek, he hid under his blanket. "Th-That's not because I'm embarrassed. It's... It's hot in here."

I gently tugged at the blanket, trying to take it off of Nolan to look at his cute face. "Nolan, you and I both know it's cold in here since you only like sleeping with the window open. And with the fan on."

"Then it's because... I'm sick." Nolan coughed in a such a fake way like he always did whenever he was trying to convince me that he was sick. "See? So sick."

I was finally able to get the blanket off of Nolan and the moment I did, I leaned over and pressed my lips on his. Nolan kissed me back for a bit, tangling his fingers in my hair before he pulled away. "Awe, no more kissing?"

"No," Nolan said, gently placing his hand on my chest and pushing me away. "Two reasons. One, I don't want to get you sick. And two, morning breath." He scrunched up his knows. "It's ugh."

"That's why we keep breath mint in the nightstand," I said. "You know, for the morning make outs and quickies."

"Ooh, a quickie," Nolan said. "Tempting. But I should probably get up from school." He turned around, reaching for his phone. When he looked at the time, he furrowed his eyebrows as he looked back at me. "Did my parents come to wake me up? Because it's past eight and normally, I'd be out of the house by now."

"Oh, it's a snow day," I said. "Roads are too slippery and stuff like that. I mean, my class was cancelled today, and normally universities expect your to trek to the snow so I'd assume your school is closed too."

Nolan took the opportunity to curl up under the blankets again, snuggling close to me. "Does this mean we can have a quickie later?"

"Does it have to be quick?"

"Good point. Let's go have sex in the shower later."

"Do you have a dial to turn down your horniness or something?"

"Probably not. I would have turned it down a long time ago because sometime, I just don't want to be horny. I'll be trying to sleep at night and then my mind will suddenly be like 'Mmm, I have a very hot boyfriend beside me'."

"I take it back," I said. "I wouldn't want to turn off your horniness. You're still somehow very cute when you're horny. Has there ever been a time where you weren't cute?"

"When I was dying in the hospital."

I stared at Nolan, trying to figure out if he was being serious or not. Nolan sure liked to have his own self-depreciating dark humour, but I couldn't even tell if he was joking at times.

Thought he soon smiled, saying, "It's just a joke."

"I can't tell with you at times."

"Sorry." Nolan rolled over before sitting on my lap, straddling me with his legs. I knew he wasn't going to kiss me or anything, since he refused to kiss me unless we had brushed our teeth. "Wanna have sex?"

"We won't be able to kiss without brushing our teeth, though," I said.

Nolan huffed, rolling back over and lying down beside me. "I take it back. My life is ruined. I don't think I'll ever get through this."

"You'll live," I said. "So since it's a school day, what do you want to do today? And no, sex isn't an option because I'm pretty sure your siblings are going to stay home."

"Mmm, Alan probably won't," Nolan said. "He likes playing in the snow. He had to be sent to the hospital because of hypothermia once. I wasn't lying when I said he was sent to the hospital more than me. But I think you and I can have a movie marathon. Watch a cool series or something. Possibly have sex in the middle of a boring sequel."

"Didn't I just say no to the sex?" I asked.

"We'll just see how things go," Nolan said.

As things went, Nolan's entire family decided to go out for the day, either to go snow sledding or ice skating or something. I didn't know. Nolan and I weren't paying attention. All I know was that a lot of the appointments in the clinic cancelled, if not all of them, so Poppy and Grayson closed the clinic for the day. They do have an emergency number set up so it someone really did need to come down, Poppy and Grayson would rush home.

So, of course, things went how things went and Nolan and I did end up having sex since we were home alone, and because Nolan gave me his puppy dog eyes that I couldn't say no too. I mean, I could, but then he would get very sad and that was the last thing I wanted.

Not that I would say no anyway. With Nolan's large family, it was hard for us to be home alone at times. The only times we were home alone were when, like now, Nolan's entire family were out while me and Nolan stayed home.

"We should do this every snow day," Nolan said as he was putting his clothes back on. "Or every day. That would work too."

"Of course it would," I said before I leaned over and gave Nolan a kiss. "You're so cute. Marry me."

       "I'm only seventeen," Nolan said.

       "Okay?"

       "I have to be eighteen."

       "Well, that's lame."

"Take it up with the law."
