(A chapter more on the fluffy side of things)
(Hero's FoV)
I watched as Nighty went to the kitchen near the evening and got himself some bread, hungry. He didn't eat dinner with us since he figured it wouldn't be appreciated by Alex, who joined in to our dinner.
I still felt bad for him, so I went after him and took his hand. He looked down to me, surprised. "What's wrong?", he asked rather softly. I smiled and reached up, removing some hair from his eyes, which wasn't too easy. He crouched down so I could do that, watching my every movement with his black and white eyes. I smiled and hugged him, snuggling into his shoulder. He seemed unsure of what to do for a moment before he decided to return the embrace, nuzzling me softly.
We stayed like that for a while before he let me go, smiling. "Thanks, Hero.", he whispered. I nodded and let go as well, giving him a big grin. He chuckled and picked me up softly, bringing me back to the living room. I held onto him, excited. He set me down on the sofa in the living room in an incredibly gentle way to not hurt me. Since I didn't want him to leave again, I kept his hand close. Nighty hesitated, but eventually sat down next to me.
I decided to snuggle up to him and show him some attention, wanting him to feel good too. He blinked a bit in surprise, but gladly cuddled me and nuzzled me. Notch eventually wanted to join in, so he got next to him on his other side and rested his head on his lap, cuddling him. Nighty giggled and cuddled us softly, not letting go.
Over the course of the next few minutes Steve and the others joined the embrace, so eventually we moved this action to the floor, where everyone could snuggle up to him in peace. Nighty leaned against the sofa, chuckling softly. "This is oddly calming...", he whispered and kept us close. Steve giggled. "Now we only need a bedtime story.", he joked. Nightmare thought a bit before shrugging. "Sure, I don't mind giving you guy one.", he offered. I perked up at that. "Really?", I asked, gasping happily. The others seemed pretty hyped too, so Nighty nodded. "Yeah!"
We got everything ready for a slumber party and got changed into our pyjamas, snuggling into blankets and pillows once done. Nighty was already thinking a bit about what kind of story to tell, he didn't change yet. Notch noticed and frowned. "Why didn't you change?", he asked. Nighty shrugged. "I didn't bring anything.", he admitted.
Both me and Notch got up and left. Nighty frowned a bit. "Did I make a mistake?", he asked Steve, who just smugly grinned. "Nah, just wait for them.", he said. Nighty frowned, but nodded and waited.
Soon the both of us returned with some stuff and Notch led him off to a bathroom so he could change. It was a struggle finding something that could fit him, but we both luckily found each a piece that could possibly work. He was a very tall and buff guy, so I kinda was glad that we even found something at all.
It took a while until Notch returned with Nighty and...
Dear god.
We got him a black shirt and some black sweatpants so he can sleep in those and not in a jeans and hoodie. Turns out, what we gave him was pretty tight, so those muscles couldn't be missed. He was ripped as fuck, like, abs for days.
He scratched the back of his neck. "Well, better than nothing.", he admitted and looked over to Entity, who had a heavy nosebleed by now and ran to get a towel. He frowned a small bit and looked back at me, silently asking for answers. I just giggled and shrugged, patting his spot. He sat down so we could snuggle up to him, clearing his throat. "What kind of story do you want?", he asked. We thought for a while about it. "Maybe a nice little story about some brothers, there are a lot of them out there, right?", Steve eventually suggested. We agreed, and so Nighty started to think and soon tell.
"There one was a land that grew the most wheat. But over the years, the harvest had grown smaller and smaller. At some point it was so small, that every farmer was given their own section of the farm, and they could only harvest the wheat there.
During that time lived two brothers. The youngest of the two was worried about his older sibling. "My brother has a family of a wife and two little girls to feed, while I only have my wife. I'll give him my corn so that they don't starve."
He did as said, putting some wheat into a bag and heading to the brother's barn, placing it down next to the rest of the wheat. Then he went home.
In the meantime, the oldest brother was thinking something similar. He knew that his brother had a wife to feed, and that they both worked very hard, much harder than himself. So he went to the barn, filled a bag with corn and brought it to his barn, placing it down.
The next morning when both brothers awoke and looked at the wheat, they were confused. They believed that they brought the other one some of their corn, but the stack didn't shrink.
The next night, the youngest brother filled two bags and brought them to the other sibling's barn, not knowing that the older brother was doing the same. They got confused again as the stacks were still the same height.
So that night they filled their carts with as much wheat as they could and brought them to the other barn.
However, while they were walking, they noticed a figure in the distance with a cart, growing more and more as they got closer. Soon enough, they noticed it was the other brother. Now they realized what had happened, and without a word, they went up to each other and embraced."
By now, all of us were either deeply asleep, or drowsy. Nighty smiled and petted the awake ones until they too slept.
That night, none of us noticed Nighty slowly get up and leave the room. We didn't notice him getting changed back into his usual clothes to not get ours dirty.
And none of us could stop him from entering the room that Alex was in.
