(A few weeks later)
(Steve's FoV)
It's been several days now, and from day to day I go and check on either Herobrine or Notch. Notch usually didn't check on him, but if he did, he always took a knife with him, just in case.
Now, Notch had taken care of Hero for multiple days.
I didn't know what to expect from Herobrine, but it definitely wasn't this.
He was curled up in the dark room, barely moving and just mumbling stuff like "I'm nothing" or "I'm useless". I swallowed heavily before sitting down in front of him, turning the light on. "Hero, what happened?", I asked him carefully. He didn't look up until I gave him my hand. Then he finally looked at it, even tho it was pretty weak. "Steve.", he mumbled before breathing lowly. "Hero, what's wrong?", I asked again. He still didn't reply, only staring at the floor. I hesitated before sighing. Then I removed the chain and the ropes and made him stand up. He nearly collapsed again, but I caught him. While I did that, I touched something sticky and warm. Hero didn't move a single muscle, not even changing his expression. In fact, he was completely motionless.
I pulled my fingers back, seeing that some blood covered them. "Hero..." I looked at him alarmed before looking behind him. The wall was also covered with blood, as well as his back. "He... He broke you...?", I whispered and made him look at me. His eyes were unusually dark and empty, but I noticed some pain underneath the dull layer. "Hero, why didn't you scream?", I asked. But I once again got no reply.
I quickly lost my temper out of worry, causing me to growl, put my hands on his shirt collar and pull him closer. "Tell me, Herobrine!", I growled, but in this moment he pushed me away harshly, backing up and pressing himself against the wall. I lost my balance and landed on the floor, groaning slightly in pain. Then I noticed what I just did.
I looked up at him before standing up and going a step towards him. "Hero, I...", I started, but stopped when I noticed that he pressed himself against the wall even more. His breathing had picked up, yet he kept his head lowered. That wasn't normal for him. It was more of a sign of fear and weakness for the Nether.
I hesitated before lowering my head as well. "Sorry. But I'm just worried about you. I never saw you like this." Hero hesitated before slowly calming down. "It's fine. Really.", he finally whispered. I looked at him before softly hugging him. He hugged me back, even tho it was very weak.
He collapsed in my arms, causing me to flinch and catch him. "Hero!", I gasped before gently setting him on his knees on the ground. He coughed heavily, blood coming out of his mouth. "Hero, calm down. Try to breathe calmly.", I said. He slowly calmed down, taking a few deep breaths. I gently rubbed with my hand over his shoulder, extremely worried right now. "Is everything alright?", I asked after he calmed down. Hero nodded slightly, swallowing. "Fuck...", he mumbled quietly. I gently placed my hands under his arms, lifting him up. He clung to me, definitely scared that he could collapse again. But he stood, not falling over even as I released him. I removed some blood from his mouth, sighing softly. "What did he do to you?", I asked carefully. Hero hesitated. "He attacked me with a knife, saying that I should pay for everything I did.", he mumbled. I closed my eyes in shock before softly taking his hands. "Why didn't you call for help?", I continued. Hero looked away. "I couldn't. He didn't let me. Every time I tried to, he shut me up.", he explained tiredly. I looked at him in sadness before leading him out of the room and to the bedroom. There I showed him to sit down on a chair and gently removed his shirt, being careful for his wounds. He moved in uncomfortableness as I got a bucket and a cloth and started removing some of the blood. Under it were multiple deep cuts, as well as his spine which was easier to see now. "Did he even give you food?", I asked, washing the blood from the cloth. He took a deep breath. "Barely. Every five days, nothing more." I looked at him in worry before continuing my work silently.
After about half an hour I was done. Multiple cuts were infected, but it wasn't too bad.
I went to the bathroom and got the aid kit, bringing it back to the bedroom. "This might sting, Hero." He nodded. I took the antiseptic out of the kit and sprayed it on the cuts, seeing how he twitched whenever I did this. I put a bandage over his back, being careful. Then I sent him to bed, telling him to sleep so he could at least heal a little bit.
Then I went outside and searched for Notch.
I found him in the living room, reading a thick book. "What the hell did you do to Hero?" He turned to me. "Why?", he asked innocently. "He's fucked up! I'm surprised he isn't literally!", I hissed. Notch shrugged softly. "Who cares? He deserves it.", he chuckled.
I growled loudly before going to him, taking his book and just slamming it in his head once, causing him to pass out. "Just like you deserved a pat on the head, huh? Maybe you'll learn better this way.", I grumbled before putting the book next to him, leaving the living room and going to the kitchen to get a glass of warm milk. While I warmed up the milk I put the milk bottle back into the fridge, being silent for Hero. Who knows how much he can hear? The walls in this house aren't as thick as the book I just tried to show Notch closely.
I got my glass out of the microwave, drinking the warm beverage. Then I went upstairs to the bedroom, getting dressed into my pyjama and lying down next to Hero. I quickly fell asleep, gently hugging my little demon.__________________________
