(A few days later)
Herobrine was fully awake, sitting at the table while I got dressed into something more comfortable in the bathroom.
Well, at least I thought he was fully awake. Turns out...
No.
As soon as I stepped out of the room, I saw Hero laying on the table with his arms and head, completely asleep. He was purring in his sleep, a sound I heard fairly often since the incident with Notch.
What? He's a cuddly, sleepy demon!
I went over to him, took my fingers and pocked him into the sides. Hero woke up with a loud screech before falling from the chair in shock. I immediately jumped back. Good for me, because if I would've been frozen there, Hero would have actually hit me.
Now he was just lying on the ground, rubbing his head. "Fuuuuuuuck!", he groaned, stressing the 'u'. I couldn't prevent myself but giggle as Hero just laid his head back on the floor, trying to sleep there. But I didn't let him. "Dude, we need a plan because of Notch!", I said, softly taking his hand and trying to lift him up. But instead he stayed on the floor, acting like he was sleeping already. I groaned quietly and just lifted him up bridal style, earning a loud purr from him. He seemed to enjoy it a lot.
I giggled and sat him down on the table. Surprisingly, he was lighter than a feather, even with the heavy chain around his ankle. "How do you even lift that thing?", I asked, pointing at the chain. Hero looked down for a moment before giving me a deadpanned look. "You don't lift it at all?", he asked me instead, startling me for a moment. "But you're walking with it, aren't you?", I continued. Hero's face stayed deadpanned. "Uhm, yeah? But you pull and not carry it?", he told me a bit like I was a little child who didn't understand how something really easy works. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes as I just said: "Forget it." Hero looked at me for a few moments before he shrugged it off. "Sure."
"Ok what does the plan look like?", I asked. Hero looked at me with slightly widened eyes. "Wait I was supposed to get a plan?!", he screeched. I facepalmed. "Yes?" Hero went completely silent. After a few moments he just whispered: "Oh." I sat down next to him and sighed. "Always sleeping but never doing something is a bad habit of yours, right?" Hero shrugged with a shy grin. "Only if someone is there for me.", he replied. I sighed again and leaned back, my arms keeping me up. "Alright. Alright. Let's think about a plan together, then. How much do you know about Notch?", I asked. Hero took a deep breath. "Well, he has the habit of cleaning stuff, but I doubt that this will help us. He doesn't like demons so it'll be hard to get into his castle on the top of a hill. He's also always surrounded by many guards and servants, just in case. Then... He likes reading alone, so if he's in the library, there are no guards, no servants, no nothing around. He loves listening to music while reading, making it able for us to get to him and knock him out. And-", he explained, but I cut him off, a bit confused. "Wait I thought we'll kill him?", I asked. Hero flinched. "And become what he said I am?", he mumbled, his eyes staring at the floor, completely empty. I shrugged slightly. "Well, I'd rather kill him instead of letting him hurt more persons!", I replied. Hero hesitated, but then he shrugged weakly.
Herobrine being so weird about this situation actually made me kinda feel uncomfortable. If he's really that worried about Notch, is that why he doesn't want to hurt him? But then again, why doesn't he want to do this?
"Is there something you want to tell me, Herobrine?", I asked. Hero hesitated, then he just shook his head. "No.", he replied. "Anyway. We should get to it."(A few hours later)
Herobrine and I were standing in front of the massive pillar. Around it was a very long chain. It led directly to Hero's ankle, tying it to the pillar. I kneeled down beside it and examined it. Actually, it was just a simple obsidian chain with a spell on it which made it unable for him to teleport away.
I took the pickaxe Hero handed me and looked at it. It was an iron one with a wooden handle. It was way heavier than mine, and was in a way better condition. Hero couldn't break the chain, even with this tool. Something kept him from doing that, an invisible force if you want to call it that. So I had to try doing it.
As soon as I placed the edge of the pickaxe on it, I felt a heavy tug on my arm, as if the pick wanted to move away. I looked up to Hero, who seemed brutally pale now. "Ok little change of plan. Don't do it.", he said, swallowing heavily. But I sighed. "Do you want to escape now or what?", I asked. Hero took a deep breath. Then he hesitantly nodded. I raised the pickaxe and slammed it down on the chain. It immediately shattered under the edge. But something else happened too.
Hero collapsed beside me, completely unconscious. I flinched, dropped the pickaxe and went to him, trying to wake him up. The chain dissapeared into a black smoke, just like the smoke I saw when I fell down.
I gently took Hero's shoulders and shook him carefully. Hero needed a few moment until he woke up, his eyes first clouded, but then they cleared. He coughed softly and sat up, rubbing his head. "God damnit...", he mumbled. "What happened?", I asked, unable to hide a little giggle as I heard his voice being a bit higher pitched. Hero sighed and replied with a completely normal voice: "Well, my magic came back as soon as you broke the chain. And you can kinda imagine magic being a bunch of little kids: They run towards you and throw you on the floor for the hugs." I giggled some more and helped Hero stand up. "I thought you'd be able to stand hugs?" Hero chuckled softly. "Turns out, no.", he replied. I chuckled a bit. We both went inside. In the meanwhile I watched Hero walk. He seemed much more comfortable and free without the heavy chain keeping him in one place. He actually looked happy.
I hope that if Notch is gone, he will look happy more often._______________
