(3rd person FoV)
"When is your birthday?", Steve asked. (Ok I doubt that I will get it right because I always mix June and July up uwu)
"First of June, and yours?"
"Tenth of October.", Steve replied, thinking about more questions. "What is your fear?", he suddenly asked. Hero was slightly confused, but then he giggled. "You wouldn't believe me anyway." Steve tilted his head with a grin. "Dude, I will. Just tell me." Hero giggled some more. "Oh, it's just that I'm scared of spiders." Steve immediately choked on his tea. "The god of death and destruction, scared of a little spider?!", he screeched after coughing. Hero let out a hesitant chuckle. "Yeah... I told you you wouldn't believe me. But what about you? What is your fear?" Steve thought about it for a moment before slowly answering: "Probably death, honestly. But I don't think anything else." Hero sighed. "Well that's a perfect couple. A god of death who's scared of spiders, and a mortal who's scared of death. Wouldn't that mean that you're scared of me?" Steve hesitated very long. "Let's skip that for now.", he mumbled. Of course he tried to be as calm as possible around him, but obviously Steve was scared of him. Well, who would have thought. Herobrine was one of the most dangerous persons in the whole universe, so it's pretty clear that no one could be around him without feeling slightly scared.
Hero seemed pretty depressed all of the sudden. "I understand. I kinda guess that we should stop talking for today. I'll just sleep now. Good night, Steve.", he mumbled. Steve wanted to say something, but Herobrine hung up.

(Steve's FoV)
I don't know how he did it, but he definitely knew what I thought.
I took a deep breath and just stared at the background of my phone before just turning it silently, going to my bedroom and placing it on my bedside table with the display on the wood. Then I just laid down on the bed, grabbing the blanket and pulling it over my shoulders. Normally I would've heard Hero's purring by now, but it was gone. Nothing was here, not even the warmth of the blanket.
Really, really sad I hugged my pillow, trying to fall asleep as the soft moonlight came though the window into my room. It didn't take long and I fell asleep, despite my thoughts flying around restlessly.

(At the same time, somewhere completely different)
(Herobrines' FoV)
I put my phone down, only staring at the blank wall.
He's scared, no, terrified of me...
I only subconsciously heard a nurse come in, but she soon brought me out of my thoughts as she started to change the bandage around my hand and touch the wound to see if it was still hurting. I flinched and looked at her. The nurse looked at me as well before asking: "Did I hurt you?" I shook my head. "Not quite. You just scared me.", I replied, looking at my hand now. She nodded and tied the bandage around my hand. After she was done, she told me: "I need you to get rid of your shirt. Just for the bandage around your torso." I took a deep breath and carefully raised my arms, pulling the shirt I got from the hospital over my head and letting her disinfect the wounds and put clean bandages around my body. Then she only took the bloody ones and went out of the room, saying goodnight and closing the door. I stayed awake for some time, just staring into the empty air. Then I laid down on the bed, placing my head on the pillow and wrapping the blanket around me.
Soon after I fell asleep, only barely aware that I was literally crying myself to sleep until everything faded to a deep black.

(The next day)
A loud knock on the door ripped me out of my dreams. I raised my head a bit confused, then I only laid back down, turning my back to the door and randomly groaning "5 Minutes..." as soon as the door opened. I heard someone come over to the bed, softly placing a hand on my shoulder. A bit confused I looked around, seeing that Steve was behind me, hiding something behind his back. I sat up and immediately got a hug from him. Still confused, but now also worried I hugged him as well. "Why are you here, Steve?", I asked tiredly as he released me. He only tilted his head. "Don't you want me here?" I thought about it for a moment. "Let me rephrase that question: Why are you here already? It's-" I took my phone and looked at the time. "6 o'clock in the morning, and I'm still tired as all fuck." Steve lowered his head. "I'm glad you didn't notice anything then." I already wanted to ask, but Steve knew it. "You almost died in the night. The poison from the sword attacked your heart and it nearly destroyed every single system in your body. The doctors called me in the morning and I immediately came over. And I got you something for yesterday. I know I hurt you, so I maybe have something to redeem myself.", he explained before handing me a little box. I hesitantly took it and opened it, still confused. Inside the box was a necklace with a golden heart-locket on which was written in a very beautiful writing:
You're my Hero
I swallowed before looking up at him. "Steve, I cannot take that! It must've been expensive!" Steve only chuckled. "Why expensive? I made it myself." That only shocked me even more. "T-That's another reason why I can't take this!", I gasped, still staring at the locket. But Steve only took the necklace from the box, putting it around my neck. I took the locket and looked at it for a long time before sighing. "You're insane, Steve.", I grumbled resigned. He only smiled and placed his hand on my shoulder. "Maybe I am. And the fact that I'm in love with a mad man makes it even more believable.", he mumbled, stroking through my hair. I closed my eyes, enjoying it very much. Steve continued, causing me to slightly purr.
"How are you today, anyway?", he asked. "Pretty good, thank you.", I replied, stopping the purring. Steve smiled. "Glad to hear that."
We stayed silent for a very long time. Yet it wasn't as uncomfortable as I first thought. No, it was actually pretty nice.
But even the nicest times have to stop at some point, and that was the fact as Steve had to go because he still had something to do at home.
"Can't you stay a little longer?", I pleaded. But Steve only shook his head with a quiet sigh. "No, Hero. I'm sorry. But I promise I will return every day." I raised my pinky and locked it with his. "Promise?", I asked. Steve smiled softly. "Promise."
