Birds and Lizards. Issue 3

I swung around Gotham once more, I still couldn't stop thinking about my mom. I felt as if I could've saved her, but I didn't.

Th Bat signal went off in the sky, I decided to stop by and help Bruce. Approaching the building I noticed that it was only commissioner Gordon. I landed behind him. "That's a new record Batman." He said, turning around too notice it was me. His eyes widened. "What? Excepting someone else?" I jokingly asked, James shook his head, taking out a flask. "All of you are weirdos." He said, taking a sip out of the flask. "Your not wrong." I told him, Bruce arriving as I did. "What's the problem James." Bruce asked, James looked up from his flask. "Hostage situation. Deadshot wants too speak directly to you." James told Bruce. "Can I tag along?" I asked, James and Bruce looked over at me. "Stick too the wall outside of the building, only come in when I say too." Bruce told me, grabbing his grappling hook.

Batman entered the building while I stuck too the wall outside. I tried to listen on what they were saying. "Let them go Deadshot." Bruce said, I peaked through the window. Deadshot took his rifle away from a man's head. "Go." He said to the hostages, they all ran out immediately. "Why'd you call for me Lawton." Bruce asked Deadshot. "I need your help." He responded. "Didn't Killer Croc bust you out of Arkham two days ago?" Bruce asked him, Deadshot stayed quiet. "Not too mention the bullet you out through my head." Bruce said, beginning to approach Deadshot. "Crocs dead! That's why!" Deadshot shouted, which caught Bruce off guard. If also caught me off guard since Croc's one of the strongest people in Gotham. "How?" Bruce asked. "Some other green monster tore off his arm, my bullets didn't do anything, so I ran." He said with a king of regret.

Bruce looked down before speaking again. "We'll help you, but if you hurt one innocent person, I'll make sure you won't be able too shoot a bullet ever again." Bruce said with his iconic Bat glare. I also took that as me cue too crawl in. "Sup guys." I said, Bruce looked up at me, Deadshot was still frozen too his core. "Spider-Man, keep an eye on Deadshot while I go report this to Gordon." Bruce said, grabbing his grappling hook once more. He ran out the window. I looked over too Deadshot. "Remember the time I almost kicked your ass?" I joked, Deadshot just sat down. "What's it you saw anyways?" I asked, Deadshot just sat still. "Some type of other reptile thing. Might've been a lizard..." He said. Lizard? No it couldn't be Connors. I thought too myself. I stood there, waiting for Bruce too return.

I stood on a roof next to Cass, we were supposed too be backup in case anything went wrong with Bruce and Deadshot in the sewers. "Hey are you doing anything tomorrow?" I asked Cass, she looked over at me. "No." She said before turning back. "Well if everything goes as planned today, do you maybe wanna go on a date?" I asked her, leaning up against the edge of the building. "Hear that?" Cass asked, my senses began to buzz. "Maybe..." I looked at the street. All the sudden, a giant lizard crawled out of the sewer, it roared before jumping off.

Deadshot and Bruce crawled out of the hole that the Lizard made. "Spider-Man, Batgirl, go after it!" He shouted, helping Deadshot out of the sewer. I quickly jumped off the building and began to swing after it, Cass started to jump across roofs. We hit a road that led two ways. "I'll go left, you go right!" I shouted, swinging left. Cass jumped right.

I looked around for this Lizard thing, my senses went off as I was tackled by a black figure, we landed on a roof and I quickly kicked them off of me. I looked at them, it was a Talon. "You've gotta be kidding me..." I said, getting ready to fight. The Talon charged at me, I flipped over him, shooting a web at its back and pulling it over too me. They tumbled over, I webbed them too floor, however they somehow managed to get through them. They threw a knife at me, I ducked under it. They jumped at me, punching me in the face. They quickly acted again, kicking my spine. They stabbed my shoulder. "Found Lizard!" Cass shouted from my comm. I groaned, trying too stand back up. They kicked me once more. This definitely wasn't good, I had a knife in my shoulder and at least a broken rib. "I could use some backup!" Cass shouted again from the comms. The talon approached me. "Not. Now!" I shouted, punching them in the leg, they fell over. I picked them up by the chest piece and began too continuously punch them in the face, I dropped them before turning away to go help Cass. I tore the knife out of my shoulder before leaving to go help Cass. I jumped off the building and swung towards Cass's location. I spotted Cass getting hit into a wall by the lizards tail, I shot a web at the lizard and pulled myself to it. I punched it in the face before landing.

"God there are so many Lizard jokes I can make right now." I said, the Lizard immediately ran at me, I jumped over it. It quickly turned around and dived at me, I kicked off of it. I shot two webs down at the floor and pulled myself towards the Lizard chest. I flipped off of it then pulling myself down once again. Cass got back up. She threw two Batarangs at the creature, they lodged into its arm. It screamed out before diving at me. It tried too slash me. I backed up before it could, it then reached tackled me too the ground. It ripped my mask off. "L/N?" The creature said in weak, raspy voice. I punched the Lizard off of me. I shot a web too pull my mask to me. The Lizard held its head before screaming. Another Batarang was lodged into its back, it screamed out once more. "Wait, I think I know who he his!" I shouted as the Lizard started to run off. "Connors, wait!" I shouted, but it was too late. He jumped away.

"What the hell is that thing?" Deadshot asked, landing behind me with Batman. "Dr. Connors." I said, Deadshot still didn't who it was of course. Batman knelt down next to some of the blood. "Patch yourself up, I'm going back to the cave to analyze this." Bruce said, taking a sample of the blood. "I'll uh, see you tomorrow I guess." I said, Cass nodded.

Y/N crawled silently into his house, not noticing the figure behind him. "Set up the traps." A voice said from the figure's earpiece.
