Ch.9 Where's Kendal

He said,"Wow, isn't that the best thing you have ever seen?"

Kendal was falling under his spell, but I on the other hand was not. I said,"Oh, her parents just texted me. They want us back as soon as possible."

I pulled on Kendal's arm, but she said,"I'm sure they can wait a while!"

"Kendal that wasn't a suggestion," she was still staring at him when he repeated his,"Wow."

I figured since I couldn't get Kendal back to Earth that I could at least try to make this guy want to end our "tour."

I said with as much attitude as possible,"Have you ever seen fireworks because they are much more prettier than that!" I did find the sunset pretty spectacular, but I wasn't going admit that to him.

He responded,"Actually I have. My parents hold a fireworks show every Saturday night! Would you like to come see how we set up?"

Kendal nodded like I had expected her to do, but I disagreed. "Not to be rude, but I don't even know your name,"

He said,"Oh, yes I am David, and you are..."

Kendal immediately jumped in,"I am Kendal and she's Maria,"

I rolled my eyes and waved a Hello. He looked around and he said,"We'll let me show you around!"

He showed us where they set up for the fireworks and the exercise room which he used to show off with Kendal. I honestly hate when guys do that, but Kendal didn't mind. Well after all she didn't mind anything he did, and she thought that he was totally mesmerizing.

I said,"That's enough with the exercise room lets go see something else,"

He grabbed Kendal's hand, which she didn't mind either and said,"Lets go to the juice bar and get something to drink,"

The quickest way for me to end this was by telling him another lie. I said,"Oh, sorry we forgot our money at the room!"

Kendal groaned, but he was really looking to impress us. He said,"That's okay it's on the house!"

He called to the lady behind the bar,"Give me two... I mean three mango and strawberry smoothies,"

She said,"Okay Mr. Oaks !"

He leaned over the counter and whispered to the lady. She nodded and said,"Sometimes I have to get that added too,"

He nodded back to her and she handed the smoothies to him. He gave us all smoothies and we sat in the lounge.

He said,"Isn't this fun. We should hang out some more tomorrow!"

Kendal jumped at the invitation and said, "Yes, definitely!"

I was about to tell him that we had something to do tomorrow, but my stomach started to turn. I said,"Excuse me I have to use the restroom,"

David looked up as I left and smiled. When I came out from the bathroom I threw the smoothie away. He must have given me his because they had something in there that made me feel ... odd. I looked at the lady who was behind the counter and she gave me a bad look. I should have thrown it away after I got out of the building.

I looked around and Kendal and David were gone. I asked the lady behind the bar,"Where did the David guy go with my friend?"

She said,"I don't know,"

I started running like I had lost the most important thing in the world. I ran outside and yelled,"KENDAL, KENDAL, KENDAL!"

Everyone was staring but I didn't have time to care. I had just lost my best friend ever! I knew that he was up to no good, and he had to be working with Calon and Corona.
