Ch.13 Running

I shut my eyes tight and tried not to image the ground getting closer to us. After a while of not feeling anything I started to think I was dead. Then I tried to move my legs and make sure they were okay. They didn't move! I opened my eyes in panic.

They were still there and so were Kendal and David sitting on top of them. Kendal had her face buried in his shirt holding on as tight as possible. When David noticed I was looking at them he patted Kendal on the arm and told her it was okay to open her eyes now.

He said,"So, what now?"
I looked above us to see Calen staring at us from the window. "Is he waving?"asked Kendal.

He had a demented smile on his face as if he knew something we didn't. He probably did, but I wasn't going to stay around to figure it out.

I said,"Guys, we have to get out of here!"
The expressions on their faces told me that they were confused.
I said again,"Guys we have to go! Push to the bottom towards the pool!"

They seemed alarmed and without hesitation started to lean towards the pool. We were going awfully slow and I knew that Corona and Calen weren't going to let us off the hook that easily.
When we finally reached the pool I popped the bubble, and we jumped to edge of the pool before we could fall in.
David said," We really need a plan next time because I don't want to have to do this again!"
I said with the most sarcasm I could find,"Oh, sorry I guess we forgot to think about the  PRETTY boy, that would be dragging along behind us."
He put a smile on his face and laughed," You think I'm pretty?"
"I never said that!"
"Yes, yes you did."
"Stop it, we both know I didn't mean it like that!"
He squinted his eyes and walked closer to me. "You are just afraid to admit that you actually like me!"
I folded my arms and walked closer to him. "I don't think you understand what not interested means."
He leaned in closer and said in a quiet voice,"Maybe I do!"
He was so close that our noses almost touched. He kept leaning closer and closer until I noticed what he was trying to do. My arms freaked out and next thing I know he's in the pool and Kendal is yelling at me!
"Maria why would you do that? How could u push him?"
I tried to say,"It... It just happened!"
Instead she shushed me and kept talking,"How could that be an accident? I don't care if you don't like him Maria because I do. Just because someone is more laid back than you are doesn't mean you can be mean to them!"
I couldn't take it my head started to hurt and I could feel my hands getting sweaty.
I couldn't stop myself. I just started running and didn't stop. Even though I heard Kendal yelling at me I couldn't stop myself!
