Finding Water

Ch.4 Something's in the Water

I only got about three hours of sleep and it was terrible. I couldn't sleep so I went out onto the balcony and watched the sun rise. It was exciting to watch so many beautiful things happen at once. The sun looked like it was trying to dance above the water. It's weird how nature looks like a drawing or wallpaper. For the drive there we crossed a bridge and all you could see was water for miles. I told Kendal that if I was a fish I would want to live in those waters.

I heard a voice calling me and it kept saying my name. I turned around and no one was there. It was just Kendal and she was sound asleep. I turned back around and there he was standing on the beach pointing at me. I couldn't tell who he was but he kept saying my name and when he got my attention he started yelling at me.

He said, "Maria I know who you are. You took away my empire and my people!"

He started yelling it over and over again and then he disappeared. I was really going crazy. My head felt like it was spinning. I guess I should really get some sleep. Before I could move I felt a jerk at my necklace, but nothing was pulling it. I held on it tight to make sure it would never leave my grasp.

After getting some water everyone else had gotten up. We all got dressed in our swim suits and went down to the beach. I raced Kendal and she won. We both jumped in the water and I splashed her with water first. She said,"Hey, do you want to look for the key?"

"Why? What we read was probably not about the falling star!"

"Maybe it was!" She said nudging me in my arm.

"Fine we can look, but we won't find anything."

She squealed and dove in. After searching for a while she said, "This is obviously not working. Lets try your key."

I grabbed my key and said, "I...I don't think that's necessary."

"Come on Maria I know you don't want anyone to touch it, but how will we find what we're looking for?"

"Fine," I gave her the necklace and she dragged it under water. I focused hard on it. Then something started to swim towards us. It was huge and we started swimming back to shore. We got out of the water just to see a key fly out of the water and then fall back in. Kendal reached in the water and grabbed the key.

She said,"Maria we really found it!" She started jumping up and down and so did I.
