I was still waiting for David to catch his breath when Kendal's parents opened the door. They said,"Hey, we thought you guys got lost!"
I said,"Sorry we're late, we just meet a new friend!" I pointed at David and smiled.
He waved a hello while he was still coughing. Her parents said,"Is he okay?"
I said,"Oh he's fine. He just choked on his smoothie the way here."
Her mom said," Okay, well would you like a bottle of water?"
He stopped choking on air and said,"No, I just need to swallow better."
We all laughed a nervous laugh. It was silent for a while so I said,"David here is the son of the owner of this hotel!"
They both said,"Well that's great!"
I said,"He was going to show us around the hotel."
He said,"I am?"
I said,"Yes, remember you would?"
I nodded my head toward him and he said,"Oh, yes I am going to show you around!"
Her dad said,"Okay, just be back before 10:00."
We all said,"Okay!" Then we walked away.
He said,"I need to know what's happening!"
I said,"We can't just tell you in public!"
He said,"Follow me."
I for some reason had a new respect for him and we followed him. He stopped at a brown door that had,"DON'T ENTER" written on a sign that was taped to the door. I said,"Wait, we are going in there?"
He said,"Yes, trust me it looks better on the inside!"
He opened the door and it was at least better than I expected. There were chairs shaped as hands, the coolest hanging lights in the shape of pineapples, and a fridge full of smoothies. I smiled at him and he smiled back, but Kendal ran in. She said,"Wow, it's.... it's amazing!"
He put his arm around her and said,"Yah, I know!"
I couldn't believe him. If he was trying to get Kendal it was working. He had her rapped around his finger. They were blushing and everything. The only problem I knew Kendal would have is his age. You could tell he was older than us by at least a year. She never liked anyone older than her, but I didn't see a problem with it because they looked great together.
I said,"Kendal, can we talk?"
She said, "Of course."
We got in a huddle and I said,"Are you sure we can trust him?"
"Maria, he seems like a great guy and plus he's pretty cute!"
I rolled my eyes and said,"okay", because I didn't want to have this conversation.
He said,"I'm going to assume you guys are done, and I want to get straight to business."
I said,"Oh, yah. Well to start off, these keys around my neck are not any ordinary keys. They control fire and water elements, and there are two more that control wind and earth."
He nodded an okay to make sure that I knew he was listening.
I continued," Corona and Calen are trying to get the keys to take over the world and the other realms
. Before the incident we just had with them they almost drowned us under the ocean and held us there for hours."
He leaned on the fridge and said,"Wow. These guys seem pretty serious!"
Kendal said,"They are crazy about the keys!" While she was still twirling her hair she looked at David.
He walked over to a desk and pushed on the top. A computer started to rise out when he pushed hard enough. Now I didn't expect that. He got on the Internet and searched about the keys. Apparently the Internet doesn't think they are real, but before I would have actually seen the keys I wouldn't believe they were real.
He said,"Well no one knows about these except us and Corona and Calen." We all stopped and looked at each other. David raised and finger and said,"Wait, we need one more thing. A group name!"
