Cross laid in the bed, unconscious. Nightmare was slowly healing the severely injured skeleton, pondering about the mysterious Chara that kept sneaking in and out of base. He sighs as he finished his healing, getting up to let the poor guy rest.
He heads downstairs, where slightly concerned teammates were waiting for him. He informs them that he's fine, and asks to speak with Error in private.
"Any sight on the human yet?"
"Not yet. Checked most variations of Underswap and nothing has been found. " Nightmare groans in annoyance, his gaze flickering back to the room Cross was in."Whatever is going on, they have something to do with it. I'm sure of it."
You were back in the cold, wandering the town. You had a meal at Muffets, and that tasted good. I guess. For a meal made by a spider. You let out a shudder as a sudden chill went down your spine. You needed to find shelter. You then heard something that sounded like glitching somewhere nearby. Your head perked up, having an idea of who it is. Blue strings reached out and grab you, dragging them towards the glitching noise. And low and behold was Error, shockingly enough with a concerned look on his face.
"Are you alright?" He asks, looking at you up and down. You just nod, stating that you were perfectly fine. Doubt lingers on his face as he heads back into the portal, looking back at you. You realize he wants you to follow him. You hastily go into the portal, slightly embarrassed from your delayed response.
You relax as you see the familiar onyx black stones on the wall, a tattered red rug underneath you. Error sighed as he left, teleporting off to somewhere. You see that you were in a room you haven't been quite in before, and in the center adorning it was a large throne, a familiar figure sitting in it.
His tentacles swayed passively as he looked at you, eyelight showing no hint at what emotion he was feeling. "Welcome back, human." He greets you. You just felt relieved that you were back in a familiar environment. The issue was...you feel like you shouldn't be safe around Nightmare. Or any of the gang in fact, most of them all murderers. Stars above, you're clingy aren't you?
A frown crosses your face as you look around, a bit of your hair getting in your eyes. You didn't think that. A voice had whispered it to you.
"Is there a problem?" The guardian of negativity asks after calling your name out. You look back at him, saying that you were fine. You decided to keep the information that you just heard to yourself, figuring that you were just going crazy. I mean, you did just go through a trek through the freezing cold to escape the "good" skeletons. Although they did seem nice at first, as they are the ones that rescued you from the endless black void. You shudder a bit at the memory of it. Nightmare caught notice of it, stretching a tentacle out and cradling your head.
Now, Nightmare only does this to his workers when they are in terrible stress. His boys. He... he doesn't do it often anyways. The most often he does this is with Dust, whenever he has an LV flare up. Nightmare's eye softened the slightest bit as he looked at the human, pitying them a bit. His plan was working well thankfully, as they are starting to believe that the Stars are the corrupted ones. Ink coming in emotionless helped further his plan along even farther. The human rests their head against the tentacle, finding comfort in it.
You were tired. There's no doubt about that. Your clothes were soaked in wet snow and your body was trembling. Didn't help that there was little heating in the castle as well. Or that was just Nightmare's negativity seeping into every crack in the castle.
"An attack happened here while you were gone. Cross is injured. But you should worry about that later, it is recommended that you sleep." You look up at Nightmare in worry, worrying now. You weren't going to wait until later. You fought off your tiredness and asked Nightmare to lead you to him. Nightmare sighs and complies, getting off the throne. He started walking in the direction of where Cross was staying, stopping momentarily to offer his hand to you. You take it, letting Nightmare take the lead.
Cross had been moved into the infirmary, which was used often after battles. This was probably one of the brighter places of the castle, walls and floors shining white. You had to blink your eyes to get used to the brightness, not used to it after being in the dark castle. You see Cross, bandaged up and asleep. You let go of Nightmare's hands, walking over. You look at Nightmare, asking if he's going to be alright.
Nightmare nods, "He should be fine. His ribs will be scarred, but that's fairly it for the most part. He was lucky." You nod as well, almost like you were confirming that as well. You tell Nightmare you're heading back to your room. Well, guest/spare room. You didn't quite think of it as your own yet. Nightmare bids you farewell, going to sit on the bed Cross was on.
You slowly walked back to your room, getting lost quite a few times. It was quiet in the castle and you figured that everyone was on missions or just...eerily quiet. A swift movement caught in the corner of your eye. You paid no attention to it, thinking it was one of the many people in the castle. Er, skeletons. You opened the door to the room you rested in, the lights off. You flick the lightswitch, seeing how clean the room was. They must have cleaned it while you were gone. That's...nice.

You gulped, feeling your heart warm the slightest bit. You head to the bed, lying down on it. You groan, covering your face with your hands. God, this was so weird. Traumatic? Most likely. Pretty sure that something like this wouldn't happen to just anyone. You sit up, rubbing your head.
A hand then wrapped around your mouth, the other around your throat. You are pulled back into someone's chest.
"Sh...it'll all be over soon, PLAYER."
