Jeremy's P.O.V

"Mom? Are you sure she's okay? The last time she woke up was 2 weeks ago. I thought the operation was successfull. Is this because of her breakdown?"

It was already two hell weeks since she woke up and I was too late at that time.

When I arrived at her private room, after staying in the chapel for a few hours, they were already pinning her down and she's already losing her conciousness.

Maya, what are you thinking?

Why the hell did you try to hurt yourself?

"Her friends told me that she kept looking for you at that time. And there is also a possibility that she's thinking that you are her heart donor."

"What? How come I just know about this?"

"Well, my dear son. Aside from the fact that you keep Maya to yourself, restricting your friends from seeing her after what happened, you won't also talk to them. Why is that?"

I clinched my fist when I remember all the betrayal that Maya undergone before going through this situation. Her stepmom tried to kill her, and her friends are talking behind her back.

I heard them one time that they called Maya a liar because she kept her true identity to them.

I don't know how deep is their relationship, but it's just not right to say that without knowing Maya's real intentions.

I'm sure she have her own reasons.

"I'm just protecting her in my own way, Mom. Atleast she will be away from any risks of bacteria."

"Jimmy!"

I just sigh, knowing she gets what I meant.

"Did Tina knows about her?" She silently asked, after checking Maya's vital status.

"Yeah, Maya and I were having our first date when Tina saw us."

"Oh. Did she get mad?" She looks at me suspiciously, as if I've done something wrong.

"Tina or Maya?"

"Ofcourse, Maya! That's what you get when you have two beautiful ladies on your side!"

"Mom.. You're making it sounds like I'm two timing them. Tina and I were over a few years ago. She's just from a distant past."

"I know, I know. I just thought that you still love her because it was already 3 years when you love another woman."

"Mom.."

"Fine, I won't talk about this anymore. Just promised me that you won't hurt Maya, Jimmy. Because if you will, your father and I will disown you!"

That was harsh.

"By the way mom, what was your relationship with Maya's real mom?"

My mom became quiet for awhile but when she talked, she smiled sweetly as if she's remembering something that is really important for her.

"I will tell you everything when Maya wakes up. For now, take good care of her and don't leave her side again. We don't want to repeat what happened last time."

After that, Mom left me with some few reminders and went to work as the chairwoman of this hospital. One thing that I'd be thankful right now, is knowing that Maya is in good hands. My mother was one of the best surgeon in Korea, so does most of the surgeons here. Even though being the Chairwoman takes a lot of work, Mom really made sure that Maya will have the best service in any patient here. From the executive room, doctors, nurses and everyone who monitors her condition were trained to be the best in their field.
