Jeremy's P.O.V

"I'm looking for a patient named Maya Kim, where is she?"

I was talking fast in the nurse station, trying to figure out where Maya is when the nurse ask for her full name.

Fck.

Patrick only texted the name of the hospital, and fortunately, it was the hospital that owned by my family.

I tried to calm myself but I can't help feeling agitated and scared by the thought that Maya might be taken away from us any minute.

I don't have any idea what happened, and I don't know what to do anymore.

I tried dialling Patrick's number but my fingers were too weak to type that my phone keeps on saying "wrong password".

"Fck. Useless!"

Out of anger, I threw my phone on the wall and faces the nurse again who became pale after seeing what I have done.

What is Maya's complete name again?

Shit.

I can't think straight.

"S-sir. We are very sorry, but we need to know her complete name because there was no Maya Kim on the system."

The nurse said nervously while trying to avoid any eye contact with me.

"Try searching for--"

"Keziah Jeremiah Kim please. Where is she?"

My words were cut midway when an old man, probably 50 to 60 years old, interrupted our conversation.

Keziah Jeremiah Kim?

That's Maya!

I stepped back, giving more room for them when I notice he was with a woman who was obviously forcing herself to cry.

"Honey, please relax. Our daughter will be fine. Your heart is weak, hon." She keeps on saying while helping the old man stands.

So they are Maya's parents.

Her dad looks like he would fall on his knees soon.

Though I'm worried, I can't help but think that the man standing in front of me looks familiar.

Where did I saw him before?

"Jimmy!"

I was busy listening and observing them, when I heard my Mom's voice coming from the hallway.

"Mom! / Mathilda!"

I was shocked when Maya's Dad knows my Mom's name and they immediately greeted one another.

"What happened Kristopher? Why are you here?"

Before he could response, his wife, Maya's mother, answered.

"Our daughter Maya is in the ICU. Please do everything to keep her safe doc."

"What? How could you let this thing happen to Maya, Kristopher! You promised Jasmine that you will protect her!"

"I-I did. I even sent some private guards to tail her but I-I didn't expect this would happen."

Mr. Kim looks so devastated that he even kneeled in front of my Mom just to plead her to keep Maya's safe.

But ofcourse, I know my mom. As a doctor, they should never give any false hope to the family members because they won't know what will happen inside the operating room. But I was shocked when she did the opposite thing.
