"What about my mom?"

I stared deeply at Jeremy who's standing closely in front of me. He was smiling and joking awhile ago, but when I told him I need to tell him something about his Mom, he got serious.

Well, it's a matter worth to be serious about.

I tried to remember everything what his Mom told me at the hospital and comtemplated if I should tell Jeremy or not. I know how much he loves his family, so as much as possible, I don't want to do anything that will ruin their relationship.

But what she said really bothers me.

"She doesn't like me for you. She said our relationship is not worth fighting for and were just-- Jeremy! Where are you going!?"

Eventhough i'm not done talking yet, he turn his back on me and walk towards the exit of the greenhouse.

"I need to talk to her! What gives her the right to tell you that after what we've been through!? After what happened to you?"

I immediately went his side and grab his close knuckles, trying to calm him.

"What happened to me and what happened to us is not related to each other. And i'm sure your mom has her reasons for saying those."

"You think so?"

He hopefully stares at me and sigh deeply as if he don't know what to do anymore.

"Ofcourse, don't recklessly confront her and do something that you'll regret later. She just told me that we don't deserve to hurt each other so I should think about our relationship carefully. That's it."

"But why would she say that? Of all people, I thought she will support us because she have a close relationship with your mom."

We stayed silent for awhile until I heard him deeply sighed again.

"You know what, let's just stop worrying about this and talk to her directly. How about you'll have dinner at home later?"

What the.

"Dinner? In your house? With your family?"

Out of panic, I immediately let go of his hand and shake my head aggressively.

"No way!"

"But love--"

"B-but i'm scared of facing your Mom again. What if this time, your Dad will go against our relationship too?"

I was really nervous just from thinking about it and I felt my knees weaken.

The memory of his Mom strictly telling me to break up with his son suddenly cross my mind.

"Hey, relax. Okay? Whatever happens, I will always be by your side. I won't leave you alone. It's just that there's no point for us to keep on asking about my mom's motives in breaking us off, when both of us doesn't have any idea about it. So let's just face this head on, how about that?"

Jeremy's voice was so calm and convincing that it almost take all of my hesitations away.

It's just been a few weeks when the last time I saw his mother, is my new heart strong enough now to handle another possible blow from his Dad?

Did Eun Youngro was in any of this position before? Are we still living the shadows of their past?

But one thing's for sure.

"I don't know what to think anymore.."

Jeremy immediately went to my direction and cupped my face, as he slighly lift my head to lock our eyes.

"You don't need to think. We decided to go write our own fate remember? To not let the past dictate or affect our future."

He's right.

And if this problem still because of the past, then it needs to stop.

"Okay--"

"HOW DARE YOU CHEAT ON MY SISTER!?"

Before I could finish my words, Kuya Yoon suddenly appeared and punch Jeremy's face making the impact push him down to the floor.

"KUYA! WHAT THE HELL!?"

I felt a tingling pain in my chest but I ignore it and immediately went to Jeremy's side.

"GET AWAY FROM HIM MAYA! HE'S A LIAR! A CHEATER! A DOUCHEBAG!"

Kuya was about to attack and hit him again but I immediately move to block Jeremy's body.

"Stop it! Please stop!!"

Jeremy, who was still recovering from the sudden attack, held my arms and stand while touching his jaw.

"What the hell did I do!?" I can feel that he was mad but he still tried his best to control his emotions.

"Stop acting like you're an innocent shit! Because if you're really innocent, then how are you going to explain this!?"

Kuya throw a piece of newspaper to Jeremy's chest which immediately falls into the ground.

He was about to pick it up but what we read on the headline made our world stop.

A defeaning silent falls upon us as I histerically shake my head and move away from him.

"N-no, i-it's not true right?"

Tears keep falling on my face but I still bravely look at him in the eye to wait for his answer.

"Jeremy! Answer me!"

"I-it's true--"

"You son of a---"

This time, my world stopped for the second time around.

I didn't even have the strength to stop my brother from attacking him. And I became deaf from all the noise that's coming from my surroundings.

Just when I thought everything will be alright.

Just when I thought we have the different fate with our past.

But it was all a lie.

Just a fcking lie.

I smiled bitterly when I look down and the newspaper immediately caught my eyes.

"Ah, Youngro-yaa.. Are we really destined to have an ill-fated ending?"

I silently said before everything went black.
