Range of Expectations: the 15th expansion pack of the popular online card game called Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel World. Apparently, it was supposed to add new items, quests, and NPCs to the game and make Range Summoning easily accessible to the public. It was set to be released at midnight on April 20, 2020.

At least, that was how it was supposed to be.

"What's going on?!"

"This is my character!"

"Where's the GM?!"

Shouts were heard all over the place. People in all manner of clothing were confused as they talked to each other. They weren't all humans. Some of them could be called elves, there were others who had wolf ears or fox tails, and there were those who were anthropomorphic cats.

But those were not their real appearance. They were normal humans or they used to be normal humans. Their appearance was a mix between their real appearance and game appearance.

On the Japanese server of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel World, the players found themselves in the game world.

They were confused and scared. It was the normal reaction after all. One moment, they tried to play the game and in the next, they found themselves in that same world. From the safety of their homes, they were placed in a totally unknown environment.

"Hey! Get me the GM!" a player told an NPC merchant.

"I'm sorry but I don't know what you're talking about", the merchant fearfully replied.

Everything was chaotic. The shouts of every player echoed in the city. A girl was crying. A man was panicking. No one was safe from the confusion that the sudden change brought.

On April 20, 2020, the expansion pack "Range of Expectations" was implemented. And more than 60 million Japanese players, along with hundreds of millions of global players, were transported to a game-like world.
