He was stupid,very stupid.
He had spent the previous day in the rain, refusing to cancel a business meeting. Bad luck means that the car had decided not to start, which had forced him to walk for half an hour, under the water, because he hadn't brought an umbrella, towards the meeting place.
And now there he is,with a high fever, lying in the bed of his room.

"Love,do you need anything?"
Karl's head came out of the door.

Quackity grumbled a few words.

He hated having a fever because every time he had it,he lost his voice, his wings became more sensitive than they should and he had hallucination. It wasn't exactly a good situation for him.

Karl chuckled.
"Okay,I take that for a no. But know that I make you some hot soup"
And before Quackity could even protest in any way,he walked away leaving him alone again.

Another reason he hated being sick was that Sapnap and Karl had to take care of him. He hated when it happened. He became only a burden to others, and this belief of his had been instilled in him because of Shlatt. Whenever he got sick he did nothing but make him work double, reminding him that it was his fault that all this was happening, and he did nothing but call it a dead weight and a failure.
That's why he didn't want anyone to worry about him.

Too bad he didn't know Karl and Sapnap were happy about it. Since they had found different activities, they with Kinoko Kingdom and he with Las Nevadas, they never spent too much time together.

Quackity was only with them the whole weekend, and the other days there he spent in his country working in his casino. He came back late at night and left early in the morning.

Karl and Sapnap,on the other hand, spent the whole days and afternoons together working on the construction of their kingdom, often missing him.
So they were happy to have him, even if for a short period of time, with them. Which Alex had not yet realized, however.

Karl joined Sapnap downstairs.
"How is he?"
He asked as he made something hot.
"He can't speak"
Karl's answer and start to helping him.
"This soup should help him"
"Yeah."
It didn't take long to finish preparing the liquid preparation and,as it was still steaming, they decided to take it to the room.

Quackity, for his part, was not doing so well. He had fallen asleep not a little after Karl was gone. And his dream was nothing pleasant,it was somewhat disturbing.

"N-no...go away..."
he stirred in his sleep murmuring.

"No,everything but not Tubbo....stay away from him......he's only a child...no..."
He fidgeted in the blankets starting to sweat in a vague attempt to wake up.

"Please...go away...please...I won't do it anymore...stay away"
Warm tears began to wet her cheeks. And worst of all, that wasn't even a nightmare, just a memory.

"Please.....Schlatt...no...no...no...no,no,no,no,NO!"
His whispers became a single scream. He sat up on his bed, closing his hands into fists and starting to breathe deeply. He focused his gaze on his palms and began to breathe and inspire to calm down.

I look up at the walls of the room, everything was so foreign....the walls were white and the room where he was was no longer what it was before, warm and welcoming, now it is cold and frozen. The furniture had also changed. They had become modern and elegant, matching with the color of the walls, but before they were made of wood of each color.
It was then that he recognized it and the realization took him in full.

He began to tremble, and to help himself he hugs himself.
"No Quackity...remember...this isn't real...you ran away from this nightmare years ago. You're safe now,Tubbo is too,it's not real...it's not fucking real"
He tryed to calm down before he has a panic attack.

"It's just a hallucination, nothing I am seeing is real. Nobody can hurt me here..."
His breaths got faster and faster and the tears started to flow again. He wasn't having good results.

That was when you feel it. He listened to the slightest sound, his senses alert again as he was a prisoner in that house again.
Steps. Footsteps were slowly approaching.
He began to tremble harder and his silent crying became restrained sobs.
For a brief second, the walls of the room reverted to those of his new bedroom, which gave him even more of a headache, before turning white again.

"Hallucination...I'm just hallucinating...I'm safe,no one will hurt me...it's just fiction"
he tried to reason with himself, trying to draw strength from his own reasoning.

Although he knew he was right, his subconscious and his mind gave him no respite. The truth is it hurt,it hurt a lot. He still hadn't gotten over what had happened in his previous relationship, and he highly doubted he would ever get over it. But seeing those walls and furniture in one's own eyes certainly wasn't helping him improve his situation and mental health.

The footsteps approached and the door opened to reveal a figure, even if he couldn't figure out whose it was. The walls of his old room were replaced with those of the new room,as if they were fleshaped. And also for the figure it was like that. One moment it was Schlatt, and the next it was Sapnap, with Karl next to him. He wasn't understanding anything anymore and had an incredible headache. He felt exhausted from this situation.

When Sapnap and Karl opened the door,to bring a hot brew to Quackity, they would never have predicted to be greeted by their tearful little fiancé with faces contorted with agony. And that was something that alarmed them.
They had seen that expression several times before, after a nightmare or a panic attack.

They delicately placed the bowl on the nearby bedside table, not taking risky steps.
Sapnap approached first, slowly. Every step he took,he looked at the boy's face on the bed to make sure he could get close.

"Quackity, love,it's me,Sapnap. I do not want to hurt you. Can you hear my voice?"
He asked softening the tone of his voice.

Quackity's lost gaze and lack of response or nod,was the answer that he couldn't hear his voice. Karl, just behind, sighed. Each time it was always difficult to get the smallest out of his trance. Following Sapnap's example,he too slowly approached. Until he was beside the other raven.

Gently,he reached out and -even knowing it was a risky move- hugged him.

"Lex,listen to my voice.Remember, you are safe here, there is no one who wants to hurt you"
He whispered softly in his ear. Sapnap as he sat down beside him and put his arm around his shoulders, bringing them both in a hug.

"We love you and we will never hurt you. You are one of the best things that ever happened to us and we will never let anyone hurt you. You are safe here, with us."
He reassured him by drawing circles to help him.

A few minutes later,Quackity found himself with his face in Sapnap's chest, pulling his shirt to him as he drenched hers with tears. Karl embracing him and reassuring him next to him.

"I'm sorry.....I did not want to-"
Before he could finish Karl cut him off

"Shhh,it's ok ducky,we know. You have nothing to apologize for. We love you as you are"
Karl passed his fingers delicately between the feathers of his wings.Usually, this movement reassured him.

Quackity found himself lulled into their whispers filled with love, and slowly fell asleep in their arms. This time,no nightmare or memory invading his mind, just peace.

Sapnap and Karl lay down on the bed, always hugging each other, thus passing the rest of the day. Falling asleep too at some point.
Happy to be together.

And the soup?
The soup went cold. Poor soup forgotten by everyone and everything.
