Ellie's POV.
Anna took me out to eat at some bar for my 24th birthday. we had a few beers considering it was the afternoon but I didn't mind since I don't normally drink too often I decided to enjoy this one time with my best friend.
"That guy behind you has been staring at you for the past twenty minutes Elle" Anna giggled pointing at a older guy behind me with his friend. He's probably late thirty's maybe early forty's but if he didn't have much gray hair then he would look about in his twenty's. I spot the gold wedding ring on his finger and feel a twist in my stomach. A women without a matching gold wedding ring on her finger comes out of the bathroom and plants a kiss on his lips before sitting in his leg and he looks back at me with a evil grin on his face. It's scary seeing men cheat on their wives especially since my dad cheated on my mom she couldn't handle not being enough for him and killed herself, of course that's hard but if I ever have a child I will raise both my daughter and my son to respect their future partner.
"Anna I'm with Miles" I sigh before our waitress hands us the bill.
"I know but just saying" she shrugs placing a twenty on the table before I followed her around some clothing shops for a few hours. She bought herself some dresses and tried to get me to buy my own things but I didn't really feel like it. I honestly just wanted to go home and spend the night with Miles.
Once Anna dropped me off at Miles apartment I looked around but he wasn't there. I felt the pain in my stomach grow just a bit bigger. I know I told him not to worry about it but knowing Ike's I just assumed he would be here when I got back. I sent him a quick text asking where he was hoping he'd respond right away but he didn't. I felt the slight feeling that maybe he had freaked out and decided not to go forth with what he promised. Was he lying? I trust Miles I do but it's hard when I've never done this before, he never felt so at home and loved by someone in my entire life and maybe I'm just a little bit scared.
I threw on his t shirt and curled up on his couch turning on the classic friends marathon that's normally on this time at night. I checked my phone probably every five seconds hoping to hear back from Miles but once I had been waiting for three hours I started to really panic. What if he had gotten in an accident? What if his truck broke down? I should call him.
I dialed his number and called him about three times but each time went right to voicemail. Either his phone was turned off or he was completely ignoring me.
Another hour went by and I had already eaten dinner alone. I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth when I heard the front door open. I dropped my toothbrush and ran out in the living room seeing Miles standing there holding a small bag and take out. I walked right up to him and shoved him out of anger.
"What the fuck! I have been worried sick and I was on the fucking verge of calling the police, Miles!" He just starts laughing. His chest rising up and down as I stand there in complete disbelief with toothpaste probably dripping down my chin. "You're a dick" I spit walking away but he grabs my hand and turns me back around and calls himself down.
"I'm sorry, I was in line for two hours trying to get you a special gift and my phone died probably five hours ago" he sighs pulling my face closer to his so he can connect my lips with his.
"That wasn't funny... you really scared me" I whisper digging my face into his neck while he wraps his arms around me "I thought you weren't coming back" i sniffle.
"Never sunshine, now go sit so I can give you your gift!" He poked my stomach pushing me towards the couch. I tried not to smile but man was I excited. I haven't gotten a gift from anyone except Anna in years so this was like Christmas morning for me.
"Okay okay" I giggled pulling the tissue paper out of the tiny blue bag I pulled a small square box out and pulled the strings off before lifting the lid off revealing a gold bracelet with a sun carved in the center. I felt my whole face burn up like they were on fire and I knew my cheeks were red.
"Turn it over" Miles whispered. I flipped it over and the back of the gold bracelet had more things carved in. But it wasn't a picture, Words were carved in the inside of the gold bracelet.
I felt tears streaming down my face as I read what he had gifted me "you are my sunshine -Love Miles" I read out loud before looking up at him. He wasn't crying but the look on his face showed how happy he was. His thumb brushed over my cheek wiping away my tears before I climbed in his lap, his arms wrapped around my waist and we just sat there in silence enjoying the body warmth of each other. I didn't have to say anything and neither did he.
After we held each other on the couch for about twenty minutes in silence he suggested eating the take out he brought me. After we did we decided to bake some birthday brownies, we used coconut oil instead of vegetable oil and they were ruined but we didn't mind. He threw me over his shoulder and carried me to the shower since I had spilt brownie mix all over my arms and I told him I needed a shower. After washing the brownie mix off me he bent me over and worshiped my body and while he did he ran his fingers through my soaked hair.
"You're so beautiful, sweetheart" he mumbled standing me up and attacking my neck with kisses. I felt myself tip over the edge as his mouth devoured my collar bone from behind, once we were down from our high he turned off the shower and started a nice warm bath. I laid in front of him while he ran a wash cloth over my body relaxing my muscles.
"That feel nice..." I whisper while he occasionally plants a kiss on my neck.
"Yeah?" He smirked.
"Mhm... I love you and nothing could ever change that" I look up at him before he leans down and slowly moves his mouth against mine before pulling my hair back and untangling it. I don't normally take Baths but I could get used to this.
After that Miles and I spent a few more hours wearing each other out in bed before he held me against his chest and caressed my body in ways I never knew anyone could. He made me feel beautiful and loved the way every single woman should feel before they rest their eyes.
