Scar... that's a cactus.

Ship: desert duo

Prompt: after grian dies is last life his limbo is in the desert with scar, scar is just happy he's not alone again.

His chest ached like hell. What on earth? Why does it feel like he had just died-

Oh.

He did die, killed by Scott. Oh, o h, ooh. That makes sense . But one question, where is he? The first thing he noticed was that it was bright, as if the sun was beaming down on just him, which was weird because he specifically remembered dying in a dark oak forest. The next thing he realises, the ground was weird. Weird like grainy, brittle, sandlike. That when it clicked.

Oh.

He's in limbo again. The bright sunlight, The sand below his feet, The strange familiarities; he's in the red desert again. His old home, just him and-

Oh.

Just him and scar. Scar, his best friend, his enemy, both at the same time. The last time they were in limbo was together, so why wasn't scar there with him? Maybe because he died way before grian did, maybe because they weren't allies during last life, maybe the gods just wanted grian to suffer alone this time. Maybe-

"Grian?" 

Oh. 

He remembers that voice, the calm yet playful voice. The same voice that's been with him, taunting, laughing, calming. That voice. It was scar. Looking around, he saw his old friend. He wore his open flannel and a white tank top, just like he did before. Hat and all. His eyes went wide when he saw grian, sort of like a dogs. He's been alone for ages now, well it felt like ages. But main point is he was alone. Now he has grian, a very confused and relieved grian. 

"Scar?" Grians voice sounds broken, in desbelief.

"Yeah," scar smiled, "it's me grian." 

Instantly, grian lept to his feet and lunged onto his companion. "Your back, we're back, we're alive."

"Not really alive," scar laughed, "but I'm back," he placed a hand on the base of grians wings as a way of calming the other. The other in question was in tears, does this mean it's over? Does th e pain finally stop? 

"Oh," scar pulls away from grian. He smiles like a maniac before resting his palm out, suddenly, a cactus appeared in his hand. "I learned something!"

It was now grains turn to laugh, "you what?!" 

"Yeah," the cactus disappears from his hand, "I can summon stuff, I am a wizard after all."

"Though it's only cactuses....."

Grains home, he knows it.
