Getting back into the car together, Yoongi blew out the longest breath, Aubrey chuckled at his sudden display of relief.
"I really can't believe it..this is real, he actually likes me"
Aubrey took his cheeks between her hands as she leaned over the gear stick kissing him, letting him know that it was indeed real.
"Of course he likes you, you make his only daughter very happy" she smiled.
"And she makes me very happy" they both exchanged a loving but short kiss.
"So now what? My beautiful mate" He smiled.
"My turn to meet your parents"
"Why would you want to do that? My father died a long time ago and my mother... " His smile dulled to a thin line.
"It's tradition, I already have a gift for your mother, it's custom in my tribe to give a gift to your mother in law"
"She's not the warmest of people"
Aubrey excitedly showed him the necklace she had crafted using an amethyst stone laced with a golden chain.
"You really want to go?" He asked.
"Yes, I want to meet the mother of my beloved"
"It's a small community, she lives not far from the temple grounds we should get there within an hour"
"Do you think she will like me?" Aubrey asked, a little nervous by Yoongi's small description of his mother.
"If she has any sense, she will love you as much as I do"
"Ugh, you're making me feel nervous"
The drive to the forest region was a soothing one, trees covered in white as snowflakes fell thick against their branches, Aubrey could smell nothing but crystal clean air.
Pulling up to a clearing, Yoongi stopped the car, and turned off the ignition.
"They're houses" She declared, knitting her eyebrows as she admired the quaint village in front of them.
"What? did you think outcasts would all live in caves or something?"
"No..."
"Liar," he chuckled.
"I just wasn't expecting such a beautiful place," she says while motioning to the thick blanket of snow covering the hills and rooftops.
"Come on, this way" He pushes Aubrey towards the village.
"Yoongi?" A weak frail voice calls out in the distance, matching the small woman that is walking towards the pair.
"Mother..." Yoongi breathes out, holding Aubrey close as she attempts to cower behind him.
"What's going on? Who is this outsider you have brought to my door? I could smell her a mile away, I thought the pine trees were wilting" She spits, eyeing Aubrey, her last comment making her cower even more
