Aubrey rummaged through the small suitcase of her belongings for something to wear as Summer ran around after her as she tried to calm her best friend down. Both of their mates had whisked off in the middle of the night and left them both and their cubs behind without a word. Aubrey wasn't angry, she was hurt. They were supposed to overcome Namjoon together.
Yoongi knew the ramifications of leaving, Aubrey was sure of it, her heart was aching so much that he must have travelled far. But when the ache didn't intensify any longer she knew he had stopped in one place, and as she thought deeply she knew there was only one place he would have gone.
"We need to be careful, one wrong shift and you could haemorrhage, your body hasn't fully healed, you need to think rashly" Summer stopped Aubrey from taking off her large oversized shirt. "This is hurting me too! I can feel that Hoseok is so far away it's killing me, I need him here, and Winter needs him here too!" Summer broke as her daughter's name caught it in her throat.
"Winter..? Oh Summer, that's a beautiful name" They hugged while they both cried in each other's arms, sharing their burdened hearts together. The Summer solstice was beginning, neither Aubrey and Summer knew how it was going to end for them. But they were going to see it through to the end together.
An evil knowing glint flashed over Yoongi's eyes at the sound of the anonymous howl whipping through the woodland around them. He knew that sound oh too well growing up as a small outcast Lycan that liked to defy his own father.
Feeling the thunderous roar of paws hitting the ground vibrated through the pack, each of them looking at each other with bewilderment in their own eyes as they tried to think of whom the sound could belong to. As far as they were concerned every one of the local male Lycan were already in attendance for this face off, making them think that Yoongi had gone to another pack for back up.
Taking the opportunity as Namjoon stared past him in the direction of the sound, Yoongi swiped his sharp claws through the air bringing them down across Namjoon's face in the same spot Namjoon once did to his own mate, spilling his blood on the ground beneath them catching the pack off guard.
With the first blow laid, that instantly signalled to the other Lycan that it was time to fight. Each side leaping forward in a mass of fur and sharp teeth as they all clawed at anything they could get their paws on.
Pacing the outskirts of the brawl, Jungkook's teeth salivated at the sight of the oldest Kim brother standing to the side watching helplessly as Jimin got the better of Taehyung, pinning him to the hard ground with his teeth inches from his face and the blood of a slain unknown lycan dripping from them.
Taking his opportunity for the revenge he had been thinking about since winter solstice, Jungkook took his chance and leapt through the air taking out Jin in one foul swoop. Crashing to the ground in a ball of flying claws and kicking legs.
Jungkook couldn't help the sinister grin that laced his face as he got the better of the older Lycan.
Not so frail now am I? He thought as he looked into Jin's terrified eyes.
