Chapter 19 -

"Luke killed Joanne?" PC Jules and PC Simpson looked shocked and were asking for the third time if he had killed Joanne. I looked at Raven who was staring at them both watching and waiting to see what they would do. I slowly turned back to them both and nodded.

"Yeah he did, I was the one who had confessed to." I grimaced at the memory as it was not pleasant. PC Jules looked sad for us and PC Simpson eyed Raven. Raven stared at him back.

"So, what have you got to do with this investigation and where is you're so called boyfriend Kyle?" PC Simpson probed. I jumped as he said Kyle and his eyes flashed to mine. I stayed silent.

"Well?" He demanded.

"I am here as her support PC Simpson as she needed a friend because it would have been too much for her." Raven said smoothly and I sighed. She was right; I had needed her because it was all too much and wouldn't have been able to do it on my own. PC Simpson turned back to me.

"Where is Kyle then? I thought that he would be your support?" Man. PC Simpson would not stop digging. It was starting to irate me.

"I haven't told him that Luke had confessed." I said through my teeth. PC Simpson looked suspicious and PC Jules seemed sad.

"But why not? He is your boyfriend." Pc Simpson continued.

"Because I didn't want him involved and I didn't want him to get hurt because of me." The last part slipped and I tensed waiting for their reaction.

"Why would he get hurt?" PC Jules wondered. I refused to answer.

"Well?" PC Simpson said.

"Because Luke has killed Joanne! I don't want my boyfriend to be next! Do you really expect me to tell him that Luke confessed the murder to me?" I shouted and stood up banging my hands on the table. PC Simpson and PC Jules looked shocked.

"I don't want my boyfriend dead because of me, so I broke up with him to keep him safe! Happy now?" I especially eyed PC Simpson. Raven stood up and came and put a hand on my shoulder trying to calm me down and I hadn't realized that I was hyperventilating and shaking hard.

"Ava, sit down. Please" Raven said gently and I moved my body slowly and sat down. Raven sat beside me and placed a hand on mine. I took a deep breath and looked back at PC Jules.

"I am sorry for out bursting like that. I just wanted Kyle to be safe until this is over." I put my head in my hands.

"I understand Ava. What we need to do now is to arrest Luke. We will go now while you two stay here until he is in custody. Do you understand?" I blinked and couldn't believe what I was hearing. Did that mean I could be with Kyle again? I really hoped so.

"Okay PC Jules. We will stay here." I said smiling and they looked at me as if I had gone completely loopy. They stood up and left the room. I looked at Raven who was smiling at me.

"You will be able to be with Kyle soon." She said and I grinned even wider and hugged her hard. She seemed surprised at first, but then returned the hug.
