Chapter 6 -

I awoke the next morning with a shock, I was cold and wet. I looked over to see Joanne standing there with a bucket.

“Rise and shine!” Joanne laughed. I frowned and looked down.

“You cow!” I screamed, she had thrown water all over me! I jumped out and bed and knocked her to the ground, I held her there pinned.

“Susan!” she yelled. Uh-oh. My mom came running in yanking me off her.

“What on earth is going on?” Then she turned to me. “Ava, why are you all wet?”

“Joanne threw a bucket of water over me!” I shrieked and Joanne flinched. Mom huffed.

“Right. Get ready for school. Both of you and we will deal with this later.” She sighed and left the room along with Joanne. I ran to the phone and called Lucy.

“Hello?” Lucy answered.

“Luc, it’s me. We have a major problem.” I explained everything while I got ready for school. As soon as I was ready I raced down stairs.

“Ava, would you make sure that Lucy gives Joanne a ride as I’m running late for work.” Me and Lucy were way ahead of her.

“Can’t Lucy is using the two seater today as her mum needs the other car to pick up her brother and his friends for practice, sorry.” I wasn’t sorry at all but I said for her benefit. She was about to protest when Lucy honked her horn.

“Gotta go.” I said quickly as I raced out the door. Lucy’s car was gorgeous and I climbed in grinning.

“Did it work?” Lucy asked as she pulled away.

“Worked like a charm. Thanks Luc.” I grinned. Joanne was going to be late for her first of day. Ha! We spend the rest of the ride gossiping about Joanne and Jenna.

“Hey Matt.” Lucy called as she pulled into her usual space. Matt looked over and his eyes almost fell out of his head. He met Luc around the front grinning.

“Whoa Luc, nice ride.” He looked as if he wanted to stroke it.

“Thanks.” She said smiling. Someone tapped me on the shoulder, expecting Kyle I turned and wrapped my arms around his waist.

“Morning.” I said feeling good and then I froze. He didn’t smell like Kyle. I let go and stood back to see that it was Luke. Oh man, wrong guy.

“Morning.” He said grinning. “Well Kyle isn’t going to be happy when he finds out that you like me.” I shuddered.

“I thought you were Kyle and by the way I hate you.” I said coldly. “And where is Kyle?”

“Oh, he’s not coming.” I didn’t like the way he said it. Something was wrong, I could feel it. Besides Kyle was always here fore me and Luc. I turned to Lucy automatically.

“Luc, may I borrow your car? I left something at home.” My voice came out all strange and Matt had to nudge her to give me the keys.

“Yeah sure. Are you ok?” She tossed me the keys and instead of answering I ran for her car. I got in the car and threw it into reverse and drove towards the office leaving a shocked Lucy and Matt behind. I got to the main office and put the car in neutral, and ran in the office.

“Hello, can you give me Kyle Stevenson’s address please?” I was out of breath and panicked, Luke could have hurt Kyle. I needed to know that he was ok.

“I’m sorry but we don’t give that kind of information out like that.”

“You have to; I think he may be in trouble.” I blurted to the receptionist. She looked shocked.
