Chapter 21 –

“Ava! Where have you been?” My mother yelled as we came through the door. I gripped Kyle’s hand tighter and he grinned, we walked in the kitchen to find my mom hastily washing the dishes. Something she did when she was nervous, she turned around and opened her mouth to say something but closed it again when she saw mine and Kyle’s hand linked. Her eyes softened and smiled.

“Have you been sorting your selves out?” She sounded over the moon.

“Yeah we have mom.” I said trying to hide all my guilt from earlier. She beamed.

“Well that’s okay then.” She turned back to the dishes and finished cleaning them.

“We’re going upstairs.” I said and we walked from the living room to my room. I pulled off my shoes and lay on the bed and Kyle followed shortly after. He put his arm around me and cuddled into his chest.

“What are we gonna now?” I wondered.

“I have no idea. But at least I got you back.” He kissed my nose and I giggled. I sighed and moved so I could lie across his chest, he smelt so good.

“We have to save her.” I muttered firmly. I felt Kyle sigh beneath me.

“But what? There is nothing we can do.”

“There has to be something.” I mumbled almost defeated. I couldn’t let her die. She had such a good life ahead of her and she wasn’t going to lose her life because of me. I suddenly had an idea.

“We will go and see Luke.” I felt Kyle stiffen.

“Are you crazy?”

“No.”

“Then why are you going to see him?” Kyle pushed me off him so he could look at my face.

“Because we have to save her.”

“And how is going to see Luke gonna do that?”

“I don’t know Kyle, but we have to try.” I looked at him pleading.

“No.” He said defiantly.

“But we can’t just sit here and wait for her to die!” I said getting more and more frantic. Kyle looked worried and put his hands on my face.

“Shhh. Don’t worry. We will find a way to save her. Maybe we can go and see her friends, they may know something.” I nodded.

“Okay, but we may have to go and see Luke.” Kyle frowned.

“He will be the last resort.” I sighed.

“Okay, fine.” Kyle looked at me for a moment and was satisfied at what he saw.

“Come here, I have missed those lips of yours.” He whispered and I went to him willingly, kissing him deeply. We kissed for a long time and each time the kiss was getting hotter and deeper. Kyle then finally broke off and let me lie across his chest.
