Chapter 20 -

I got to the intensive care unit with Kyle close on my heels. I stopped at the main door and leaned over panting, I hadn't run so much in a long time. When I finally caught my breath, I leaned up and rang the buzzer.

"Can I help you?" a bored voice asked.

"Yes, I am here to Raven Thompson." I replied with my voice shaking a little.

"Are you family?"

"No but I kno-"

"If you are not family, you can not come in." The voice replied stiffly.

"You have to let me in! I can help her. I saw what happened to her and I maybe able to tell the doctors. I am also her best friend and I need to see her!" I pleaded. I hadn't realized that I cared about Raven that much until now. She was like a sister as well as Lucy. The voice sighed.

"Fine. I will let you in, but you have ten minutes." The door buzzed and I pushed it open eagerly and went straight up to the woman.

"What room is she in?"

"Room 12."

"Thank you." I smiled at the woman and headed for room 12. I slowed more and more until I finally stopped outside her room. I looked in to find that she was lying in a bed with tubes and wires all around her. Kyle touched my shoulder.

"I'm right here." I took a deep breath and opened the door as Kyle's words had given me the confidence. I entered the room and four sets of eyes landed on us.

"Who are you?" A tear streaked woman asked. She was holding Raven's hand and she looked like her so I assumed it was her mother.

"I am her friend. I was the one who was there when this all happened." I said hanging my head and feeling guilty. I looked up when I heard a chair scrape the floor and it was a man who was in his late forties coming towards me.

"It is okay young lady. Raven will pull through." The man's eyes were full of hope and it made me feel worse.

"What is your name?" A younger man asked who was still holding the woman's shoulder.

"I am Ava. May I ask who you are?" I said quietly feeling rude. The younger man smiled and he looked as if he were in his mid twenties.

"I am Rich. Raven's brother and this is my mother Melissa and my farther Harry. We have heard much about you Ava in her visions; you were the one who she was trying to help." I blinked. They knew about her visions and were cool about it? I was amazed. Kyle nudged me slightly when I hadn't answered.

"You know about her visions?" I blurted and blushed at my rudeness. Harry chuckled beside us and I took Kyle's hand gripping it tight.

"We have known about her visions since she was a young child." Melissa said softly looking at Raven adoringly, it made my stomach clench.
