" If anyone were to ask me "What is hell?" I would answer, " It's the distance between two people who love each other" ~ Unknown
Ever notice how a night will seem to drag on endlessly when you are excited for something the next day?
Like the night before Christmas morning? Or the day before a big trip. Night before a significant birthday like sixteen, eighteen or twenty one.
Yes the night before anything exciting always feels like it drags for days.
But the night before something you dread flies by in what feels like mear seconds making morning light feel like a thief coming in without permission or warning to steal whatever it might be away from you, leaving you in emotional distress and disappointment.
Katsuki and Izuku have discovered that since it's morning and time for the greenett to head back home without his firey boyfriend at his side like was the original plan.
The blonde hero stands with his hands pocketed, leaning back on a map of the airport, his hood up, feet crossed at the ankle and a heavy heart as he keeps his eyes on the greenett checking his bags in at the counter.
He clicks his tongue watching.
What a turn of events he thinks that it's now him staring at the back of the hero he loves who had always been chasing his.
Izuku finishes his task, the blonde watching his boyfriend take steps tawrds him. Beautiful deep green eyes blood shot from the tears he had been crying just an hour ago in Katsuki's strong arms.
He gives the hero a smile as he closes the distance, but it's laced with sadness and not meeting his eyes.
Katsuki sighs feeling a knot in his stomach form. He's always hated when that smile was fake, forced, or sad.
Izuku reaches him and pushes himself immediately into the blondes arms while Katsuki still stands leaning back on the sign.
He wraps the greenett in a hug holding him close as he lowers his head planting a kiss on green curls inhaling the shampoo that Izuku has used since they were kids, a scent that always feels like home to Katsuki, a scent that on his darkest day still calms him.
Izuku too is breathing in the scant he has always loved. Katsuki's quirk smells like burnt sugar, but when it's not activated he smells like a dark rich caramel with a hint of smokiness, he always has.
The greenett buries himself further into the blondes chest.
Katsuki pulls back slightly looking down. He can't help the smile creeping on his face at the sight even tho his heart is heavy.
The greenett still holds onto him like he did when they were kids and Izuku wouldn't want to leave him.
It makes him smile and feel his heart ache all at once. His hold on the greenett tightens.
Katsuki slowly runs his hand through soft green locks.
Izuku looks up into crimson eyes, both lock on but neither says a word.
Sometimes words are great, but sometimes they aren't needed. At this moment it's one of those times.
Both males have known each other for a lifetime and even when things were rocky between them, each has always known exactly how to read the other like a book.
Katsuki gives the best smile he can even tho Izuku can see the sadness and stress.
The blonde hero feels the greenett grip the fabric of his tshirt a large hand instinctively wraps around a smaller one.
