It was now the day before Katsuki had to leave to head back to get his things and get his replacement ready to take over for him.
It's only been two days since that call from Earthquake and as much as he hates it, and oh how he hates it, he made the decision to go back as soon as he could because the fucking faster he gets there and gets this shit over with the faster he can get back here to his nerd.
Speaking of his nerd, Izuku has been quiet all day, extremely and tho Katsuki is sure he knows why he hates the distant sadness in those deep green eyes that he knows he's the cause of.
The two are currently in the car going to the blonde's childhood home for dinner. Mitsuki insisted that they come for a " goodby brat but get your ass back here asap dinner" , in her words.
Sero, Kirishima and Denki would also be there along with Inko and although Katsuki is greatful for his friends and family, even if he'll never say it, all he really wants to do is wrap Izuku up in him and reassure this nerd over and over that he will be back because even if the greenett hasn't said so he knows it's on his mind, he sees it, and he gets it.
When they pulled up and parked in front of the Bakugo's house, Katsuki turned the car off and looked over at the greenett who gave him a quick smile that held more sadness than happy and before Izuku could make it out of the car the blonde hero grabbed his hand.
" Deku, are you alright? You been so damn quiet all day. If you don't want to do this we can totally blow this shit off and go back to your place for the night" ,Katsuki said his eyes on the greenett in the seat next to him.
Izuku looked over at the blonde hero but not quite meeting his eye.
There was a smile, there is always a smile, but that smile right now, the one laced with sadness is fake.
" I'm fine Kacchan, our friends are in there waiting for you to say goodbye for awhile, we can't just blow this off"
Katsuki's hand tightened around his boyfriend's as Izuku was getting ready to exit the car.
" But we can Deku, we fucking can just blow this off. This... this dinner and the extras and shit, yeah its nice or whatever, but it's not what's really fucking important to me right now"
Izuku felt his heart flutter knowing Katsuki was talking about him, he also feels the tears that want to spill so bad he isn't sure how long he can keep them from view.
The greenett forced a smile leaning over kissing the blonde quickly.
" It's ok Kacchan, come on they're waiting" , the greenett said getting out of the car.
Katsuki internally cringed because there was that fake smile again, one he could spot a mile away, one he had seen many times in the years he's known Izuku, and one that had always made his heart ache.
The blonde sighed heavily then got out taking his boyfriend's hand and walking him to the door.
As soon as the two entered they were pounced on with arms around the necks, hugs and loud chatter.
" Bros! Damn what took so long I'm starving" Denki said as he took Izuku's arm pulling him tawrds the kitchen.
The greenett looked back at Katsuki who now has narrowed eyes annoyed already that he and his nerd have been separated all fucking ready.
" Bakubro! How's things going with Mido man?" Katsuki said tightening his arm around the blondes neck.
" Yeah how's the happy couple?", Sero grinned
