Rosa's POV
*
I'd been preparing for the charity gala I would have to attend with Gonzalo all week but honestly speaking, I had no idea how to feel about it.
This was all new to me.
Yes I'd been seen with him on some occasions but all those times, I was only identified as his personal assistant but now I would be seen as his wife. From tonight onwards, then so many attention would be on me and when I sometimes go out, I could have some people secretly taking photos of me.
Also I would have to start maintaining a public image because any error on my part could be seen as a scandal and probably published on several sites. I wouldn't have privacy any longer.
Merely thinking about the whole process was beginning to make my head hurt badly.
I heaved a sigh and massaged my temple, sitting beside Greta who was reading the numbers.
Heaving a sigh of contentment, I observed her as she counted each number diligently, getting each one she pointed at on the chart. "You're doing great baby." I pecked her cheek and she gave me a toothy smile before going back to her book.
"Leo." I called.
He was in the other room attached to our room, playing a game on his phone.
"Yes?" He answered.
"When you're done with that level, let's have that talk you were about to start earlier on before Greta's nanny came in."
In a flash, he appeared in the room.
"So fast?" I teased him.
He nodded with a serious expression on his face. "I had a talk with brother-in-law."
His words made me suck in a deep breath of air in, my heart stuttering at the gravity of the situation.
I hadn't told him about the recent upgrade in my relationship with Gonzalo and during these past few days, I'd neglected my big sister duties. I had been mostly sleeping, eating and reading Harlequin novels to pass time. Also, the drugs I was still using after getting discharged from the hospital often made me feel dizzy and tired.
Looking at Leo now however, I realized I was lagging in some of my duties. Like the attention I was paying to my siblings had reduced. Greta could now walk better and she had improved in her home lessons as well. I on the other hand was either spending extra time thinking about my relationship with Gonzalo, eating and reading a novel or chatting with Mia whenever I wasn't sleeping.
"Yes Leo. Have a seat." I heaved a tired sigh.
He did as told.
"I should've told you but so many things happened and I felt like I was no longer myself. I guess I took too much time in sorting out my feelings and emotions. Due to this, I didn't tell one of the most important people in my life about this. I got married to Gonzalo while we were still at the hospital." I relayed, feeling guilt flush through me at how far I'd neglected my siblings.
Leo shook his head and tugged his upper lip between his teeth, making a smacking sound as he released it.
Then he suddenly took a step closer while getting to his feet and cradled my head, resting it on his chest and rubbing the nape of my neck.
"It's fine, sis. We've got you." He muttered softly.
My eyes brimmed with unshed tears.
Why was he so mature more than his age? He always did things that made me know he understood situations in a deeper sense than what I let on.
