Gonzalo's POV

*

Rosa stirred beside me.

I watched her slightly swollen face, consisting of puffy cheeks, a pink nose and her lips slowly parted while she inhaled and exhaled softly. She sniffed, turning to the other side so her back faced me.

"N..no. You'll never have him... Leonardo nooo..." She murmured in her sleep, shaking her head as if she was struggling with someone in the dream but I chuckled darkly.

"Still asleep, I see... Well, I'll be here when you wake up, Rosa." I said aloud.

Her back straightened, her breath sizing for a little moment as she swiftly turned back around. Then her brows scrunched up to squeeze her face into a deep frown.

She gasped as she sat up and looked around with wide eyes. She blinked and looked at me from the window where I stood staring at her, her eyes widening even further as if she couldn't believe she was back in our room and with me.

So, I gave her a reassuring nod that meant 'you're home, baby girl.'

My gaze was hard though. I wasn't going to take it easy on her.

"Gonzalo..." She swallowed.

"You're awake. How do you feel?"

She eyed me warily, her slightly red eyes taking in my demeanor before awkwardly looking away. "I'm okay. Just a little tired from everything, b-but okay. Overall."

I nodded and walked towards the bed, sitting. She was on edge. She was tense. And she better be, because I sure as fuck wouldn't take it easy with her pretty little ass!

"So, now that you look sober enough to hold a conversation without bursting into tears or fainting like you did two hours ago, let's talk." I cleared my throat, my voice sounding dead serious and she eyed me with more wariness. "Why did you do it?"

She didn't speak, tugging hard on her lower lip with her pure white teeth while her forehead creased in a mixture of slight fear, confusion and apprehension at my tone. Good for her. I made sure my voice remained calm but perfectly serious as I spoke. I'm angrier when I'm calm than when I throw a fit and she was well aware of this.

"Well? Answer me." I ordered impatiently.

Rosa looked down at her palms but turned her body sideways so she was facing me. "I was scared."

"You were scared. Hmm. Why didn't you tell me my brother threatened you? We were together for more than a whole day after he first contacted you, yet you smartly kept it to yourself. What if he wasn't the one that actually kidnapped Leo and he wanted to use you as a bait to lure me out and hurt me?"

"Gonzalo I-"

"What if he'd hurt you?"

Rosa shook her head, her eyes revealing the guiit she was feeling. "He promised he wouldn't."

Her words annoyed me. This wasn't the time to play naivety for goodness sake!

"I'm quite sure he didn't promise you shit. What if he had sexually assaulted you, Rosa? How could you be so dense to walk into the devil's lair, huh? How could you be so selfish? You didn't think of me, you didn't think of Greta who would hurt every. single. day. if something bad were to happen to her dear Rosa." The pent up anger and frustration I'd tried to suppress ever since she fainted and I had a doctor check on her two hours ago returned with full force.

She wouldn't understand the level of my anger.

"Gonzalo..." Her eyelids fluttered. I didn't care for her pitiful look right now. Well, I actually cared — a lot— but I wasn't about to let her know that.
