I sat in the bathroom, back pressed against the door, knees to my chest, head resting on my knees, waiting for Luke to leave with Layne. I heard their muffled voices still at the door. I heard the door close and then silence. I went to pull out my phone to see if Luke had informed me of him leaving with Layne, but remembered that I left it on the counter in the kitchen.
I pulled myself up on my shakey legs and opened the door. I walked to the kitchen and grabbed my phone checking for a call or text from Luke. Nothing. A tear slipped down my cheek. 'Would Luke really leave me alone after everything? After he told Micheal he would protect me?'
I walked to bedroom and laid on the bed. The more I thought about Luke leaving the more tears came. I finally cried myself to sleep thinking about him.
*An hour later*
I still had my eyes closed hoping that I would just go back to sleep knowing that if I got up I would just think about how much I didn't like Luke right now.
The door of the bedroom came open with a loud and starling creek. I forced myself not to open my eyes and to keep my breathing even. A couple seconds passed before the bed dipped from the person's weight. An arm wrapped around me and my breathing stopped. A few seconds passed before they spoke, "Dillion, wake up. Come on, get up so we can go before we're late."
I rolled over and got a big whiff of Luke's cologne. "Luke?" I questioned snuggling into his chest.
"Dillion? You need to get up and get dressed so we can leave." He spoke softly and slowly as if he were speaking to a child.
"Where are we going?" I asked as he pulled me from the bed and to the dresser. He pulled open one of the drawers and saw that nothing was in it. He looked at me with a confused expression on his face. "What? I haven't been here that much. All my clothes are in a box over there." I pointed to a big box of clothes.
"Okay. And we are going to have lunch with Layne at that little cafè downtown that you love," he informed me.
Oh, was all I could say as I pulled some clothes from the box to wear. I pulled out some shorts and a cute tank top and a aztec pattern cardigan to go over the top of it. I turned around and eyed Luke. "What? I'm not doing anything." I pointed to the clothes and then myself. He nodded his head before walking out of the room. I stripped and quickly put on the outfit I had chosen. I put my in a messy bun that still looked cute and grabbed my sandals. I walked out of the room to find Luke fiddling with a picture.
"Ready to go?" I asked, he put the picture down, walking to the door.
"Just waiting on you. We have to swing by my house so I can change, okay?"
"I don't care. Your driving anyways," I said before locking the door and sprinting to Luke's car.
I was taking the last step when my phone started buzzing. I pulled it out of my pocket still running. Micheal's name and picture was on the screen. I stopped dead in my tracks. Luke was already at the car before he turned around. I was still staring at my phone when he came up to me. "Who is it?" Luke asked peering over the top of my phone.
When he saw Micheal's name he grabbed the phone from my hands. "Here are the keys. Go to the car, I'll deal with him," he said dropping the keys in my hand, that had just been holding my phone, before turning and walking the opposite way of the car. I jumped in the car as the yelling started. I turned on the radio and Missing You by All Time Low started playing. I closed my eyes and just focused on the lyrics, trying to tune the whole world out.
