Senior prom.

A night that Robin never would have thought she'd have made it to, considering the events of the past year.

Instead of senior prom being a place where you are hopelessly in love, and doing hopelessly pathetic things, Robin sees it as a reward for managing to survive Hawkins High School. A new step in the right direction. After graduation, Robin knew that she would leave Hawkins for good, and never look back.

So, that's why Robin never considered going with anybody.

But, even though she had no one to impress, and she seriously considered arriving in her favourite pair of pastel green sweats, she anxiously put on a lacy black dress, with a black blazer.

After making sure that her choker was on straight, she made her way outside, and into Steve's car. He was going alone, and so was Nancy Wheeler, so they all decided to drive there together.

Nancy wasn't in the car yet, so Robin hopped in the front seat.

"Good evenin', m'lady," Steve said, in a joking tone.

"Don't call me that." Robin protested firmly.

She looked at Steve, to see that he was dressed in an all black suit, and had his hair gelled in a way that practically screamed 'straight man with many children friends.'

"You look...nice..." Steve said awkwardly, trying his very best to make conversation.

"Thanks. Just drive, please." Robin said, confused by the trace of eagerness found in her voice.

"Excited to get to prom, are we?" Steve asked. "Or maybe you want to impress a certain some-"

"No. Drive. Now." Robin interrupted, only adding a small "please?" afterwards.

Steve nodded, but was unable to conceal a small smirk as he hit the pedal.

15 minutes late of small talk and arguments about pointless things, the car pulled up in front of the Wheeler's house.

Robin instantly stepped out, and walked up towards the door.

She knocked a few times, and heard a few shouts for Ted to answer the door. No response, and the house was quiet for around 20 seconds, until the door was pulled open by an exasperated looking Mrs. Wheeler.

"We're here for Nancy?" Robin asked, wondering why the door hadn't been opened by Nancy herself.

"Oh, she told me she was going to wait outside. Is she not there?" Karen asked, confused as to why they hadn't seen her.

"Um," Robin stuttered, growing increasingly worried. "I-I probably just missed her. I'll take a look. Have a nice night!"

"You too," Karen smiled, closing the door.

As soon as the door clicked shut, Robin practically sprinted to Steve's car, and started babbling incoherently.

"She-she said- and I-I -looked- but- Nancy- I don't know- I don't know-"

"Whoa," Steve exclaimed. "Deep breath, Robin. What's wrong?"

Robin glanced around, confirming that Nancy wasn't there, by listening to the sound of crickets chirping.

"Nancy. Nancy is supposed to be here. Waiting outside. But she's not. And I don't- anything could've-"

But Robin couldn't finish her sentence. Why?

She was cut off by a bloodcurdling scream.
