7. The Prophecy

They landed just outside the forest, in the middle of which Gurudev's ashram is. They got down from the beast and walked round it to stand in front of it.

Umika stepped forward and the beast lowered it's head. Umika smiled and began stroking it's scaly skin with her hand. 

'Tumhara bohot bohot dhanyawad, Mitra.........Ab tum vapis apne ghar jao..........Ab tum mukht ho!' (Thank you so much, my friend.......Now go back to your home..........You are free now!) she said lovingly. 

Umika backed away and the beast took an air piercing flight. A portal opened on the Earth. The beast flipped in the air and then jumped into the portal with joy. The portal closed behind it.

Umika turned and found her friends looking at her with slight anger.

'Umika!.........Abhi kuch der pehle hum Asur-Raj Vrishketu aur Asur-Kumaron ko jala kar aaye hain, vo bhi swayam Mahasur Vidyunmali aur Daitya-Mata ke samaksh!..........Itna hi nhi.......maine apne Asur-Raj ke smaksh unki behen ko uske waghdan se bhagane mein sahayta ki...........' (Umika!......Just few hours ago we burned Asur-Raj Vrishketu and Asur-Princes and that too inf ront of Mahasur Vidyunmali and Daitya-Mata!.......Not only that........I betrayed my Asur-Raj by helping his sister to run away from her waghdan!....)  Frustration was clear in Maheem's voice. He was not just giving her information, he was actually telling her at what scale they have pulled a stunt.  '......Ab kripa krke ye batao ki ye sb ho kya raha hai!?!' (Now do me a favour and tell me that the hell is happening!?!)

Umika bit her lip and expression of guilt was very much visible on her face. 'Dharya rkho Mheem' Khyati told him and he inhaled while glaring at Umika. He cannot even scold her properly because this crazy girl in front of him is as much of a baby sister to him as she is to her real brothers.

They began making their way inside the forest and towards Gurudev's ashram.

As they walked through the forest, with Mheem leading the way, Umika could not stop thinking about what happened back their at palace. Her vision started to blur as she remembered her brothers burning in fire. Though she knows they will be alright but the guilt was something she cannot deal with.

And on the other hand was the challenge she was now going to face- telling her friends about what's coming their way. 

She knows that Khyati will at least try a little to understand but Mheem?.........She is damn sure that Mheem is going to be very hard to handle.

But it's alright. It's okay. All this pain, confusion, guilt, the terrifying doubts that maybe she'll be left alone on the path............it's all worth it.

Ashram

Gurudev and Guru-Maa were standing near the fence of the ashram only, waiting for Umika, Mheem and Khyati to arrive. With every passing second the fear in their hearts was increasing more and more. After all escaping the palace of Asur-Samrat and that too in the presence of all his sons and Daitya-Mata is no joke!
