The next day in Boris throne room Boris sees the four come in with Kurt infront
"Ah the four would be heros of Tamrisil have you gotten the money for my rune?" Boris asks sitting on his throne
"Before we do give you the money could you maybe give us the rune free if we told you that we stopped a underground incubus cultist from trafficking females and turning them into incubi,wyverns from attacking any and all caravans,and cultist of a giant purple worm?" Kurt asks persuading like
"Amazing how much you all been through but it is of no importance of me sadly the price stays at two hundred and fifty gold pieces" Boris says not willing to negotiate and Kurt sighs then from his belt he tosses over a small pouch and Boris goes to check on it going to a table to measure and count it all up talking to himself then stops and turns around "two hundred and fifty gold exactly perfect" Boris says happily smiling
"Now hand over that rune" Raloran says hastily
"I cannot" Boris says handing a guard the pouch
"What!?" Raloran and Kurt says enraged
"What do you mean can't give us the rune!?" Raloran says with a bit of a twitch coming on
"I do not have it here" Boris says "why would i keep a powerful,magical,and yet gaudy item here in the palace?" He asks
"Well where is it?" Kurt asks kinda angry crossing his arms
"It is in the desert far west from the city in a temple that was uncovered by me and the other leaders before" Boris answers "few have ever gone out that way though due to a sandstorm that has blown harshly out there for months" he adds
"A little sand won't hurt us" Kurt says
"But this is no ordinary sandstorm" Boris says " the sand that is blowing in the west is black as night and stinks of death" he explains "i do not know what is causing the storm but whenever i send my guards or any mercenary group they never come back" Boris says "i have asked king Erin to bring support of his azure blades but he has not replied back" Boris says and Lady thinks on this but shakes it off
"So thats why you wanted currency for the rune" Lady says "to try to discourage us from ever getting it so we don't go into the sandstorm" Lady explains
"I may be one for commerce but i still have a heart for the people" Boris says. Kurt thinks a bit and then looks at the others then back at Boris
"Well maybe we can get rid of this sandstorm of yours" Kurt says "but in return we want the rune and a little bit extra for the trouble were gonna be going through" Kurt says and the other nods
"As Waukeen as my witness i will take that offer" Boris says "provided you all do not die" he adds
"Right lets get going and get the rune" Kurt says then leads out of the castle.
"This is a clusterfuck" Raloran says "first we lose two hundred and fifty gold coins then this arsehole playing games with us by saying he doesn't have the rune and its stuck in some temple in a black sandstorm frock me" he adds
"Hey i know its a bit of a blow to the groin but i mean we need that rune" Kurt explains leading the others
"Yeah? I say we grab it then find someone who want to buy it it has to be worth something" Raloran says
"Look i know it's tough but i mean hey were being paid for it plus who knows exposure does help at times Kurt says and Raloran sighs
"What do you think Lady?" Raloran asks looking at her with Cybel
"I....." Lady thinks on it for a bit then pipes back up "i think Kurt has a point besides the exposure part" she says "we need that rune to complete our mission one way or another" Lady explains and Raloran sighs
