Familial Battle

Y/N POV

The day after my return I decide to watch Neo's combat class. I see Pyrrha easily mop the floor with team CRDL. 

Glynda: "Great job Miss Nikos, you'll have no trouble competing in the tournament. We still have time for one more match. Anyone feeling brave?"

They all look away causing Glynda to sigh.

Glynda: "Fine. Random-"

Y/N: "Hold it. I'd like to volunteer."

I lean off the doorway making my way into the arena.

Glynda: "The arena is reserved for students."

Y/N: "I understand. But our duty as teachers is to teach said students that the people they'll fight won't be mere students. Out there they won't have the safety they have here. If they wanna survive they need to learn to fight without a safety net. Which is why one of you lucky students will be going up against me."

They all gulp.

Y/N: "Neo. You have this honor."

They all look at her as she makes her way down with a smile on her face. After getting her parasol she stands opposite me.

Y/N: "The rules are simple. There aren't any. This will be similar to a fight in the real world. You can use any technique you want. No matter how underhanded they may seem. Because out there you opponent doesn't live by rules."

Glynda: "Combatants get ready."

I withdraw my daggers as Neo slings her parasol over her shoulder.

Glynda: "Begin!"

3rd POV

The buzzer goes off beginning the match. In a blur they both run forward clashing in a brilliant flash of sparks. They share a smile. Neo then opens fire at Y/N. He however uses his ability to appear beside het. With a swing of his daggers they once more clash blades.

But this time Y/N fires a beanbag at Neo pushing her back. Y/N now aims both of his gun as Neo cranks up her semblance creating multiple copies of herself. Y/N chuckles as the copies move. Like an expert dancer he weaves through the copies' attacks then fires a bullet through their head taking them down. 

While this happens the real Neo sneaks up behind Y/N. She then sweeps his legs sending them into the air. Y/N plants his hands on the ground. Following that he spins around kicking Neo in her jaw knocking her back. After getting to his feet they both smile.

Y/N: "Not bad. Now it's my turn."

Switching back to his daggers he zips to Neo. She attempts to block him but he activates his ability. His body disappears reappearing behind Neo. His swings one dagger cutting her back. She goes to hit him but he flips over her back cutting her chest. 

Seeing him she tries to fire at him. But Y/N once again uses his ability. He uses it to zip around Neo delivering slice after slice quickly wearing down her aura. Right when Y/N comes in for another attack Neo presses the button on her ball. This jumps her back to her starting position. This causes Y/N to miss his attack leaving him open. 

Neo flashes a smile aiming her parasol. A maelstrom of bullets is let loose at Y/N. Kicking it into high gear he swings his blades cutting the bullets heading for him while using his ability to dodge the bullets that get too close. When the last bullet is fired Y/N is revealed to have not taken a single hit.

Ruby: "Woah. Incredible!!!"

Y/N: "Not bad, nearly had me. But what'd you say we wrap this up?"

Neo: "I was just thinking the same thing."

They both holster their weapons raising their fists. Then in the blink of an eye they collide with a right hook. They both go for a left hook but again their fists collide. Neo swings her foot hitting Y/N's ribs. He scoffs before taking out her other leg. On the ground he tries to stomp on her but she rolls dodging him. 

Neo slightly spins taking out Y/N's legs. Acting quick she pins him down. She then lets loose alternating punches to his face. On the tenth punch Y/N manages punch her ribs breaking her attack chain. He follows up by pushing her off. But Neo grabs his arm getting it in a hold.

Neo: "Give up."

Y/N: "Never."

She applies pressure until his arm snaps. Instead of screaming he uses his added mobility to roll onto his feet. Then with a smile he uses all of his weight to pull Neo through his legs across the floor. She stops hitting the wall. That's when the buzzer goes off.

Glynda: "Y/N is the winner."

Everyone stares in amazement.

Y/N: "As stated before, your opponents out there won't be playing by the rules. They'll show no mercy. If you wanna survive then you've gotta be willing to fight dirty."
