Lost Father

Neo POV

Some time after history class we all make our way through the Forever Fall Forest with Glynda leading us.

Glynda: "Yes I know the forest is beautiful, but we're not here for the sights. You're here so you can gather samples for professor Peach. My job is to make sure nothing happens to none of you. Stick to your teammates for there's Grimm lurking about. At four you're to meet back here. Good luck."

We walk away to each gather a sample. As I fill my jar up I notice Ruby struggling to reach the sap.

Neo: "Need help?"

Ruby: "Yes please."

I take her jar and lift it to the sap. Once the jar's full I hand it back to her.

Ruby: "Thank you."

Neo: "No worries."

She grabs the jar when we hear a womanly scream. We run to it to find Jaune fighting an Ursa Major. He gets his sword swatted away. The Ursa Major swings its claws when I fire at its chest. It stumbles back as I join Jaune's side. 

Jaune: "Thanks for the assist."

Neo: "Thank me when it's dead."

The Ursa Major roars as we rush forward. I cut its chest while Jaune sneaks behind it slicing its back. When it tries to go for him I vault on top of it. It roars swinging its head trying to throw me off.

With it distracted Jaune plunges his sword into the Ursa Major's chest. As it hollers I jump off beheading it. It falls to the ground turning to dust. A couple days later I walk with team RWBY down the streets of Vale.

Weiss: "The Vytal Festival. What a wonderous occasion."

Ruby: "What's up with you Weiss? It's kind creepy seeing you smile this much."

Neo: *chuckles* 

Weiss: "I'm concerned you're not smiling. There' gonna be parades, floats and a full on tournament. Oh the planning going into it makes me wanna faint."

Yang: "And now tournaments are boring."

Weiss: "Shut up."

Yang: "Why're we even at the docks on a Friday?"

Ruby: *sniffs* "They smell like fish."

Neo: "Pretty sure that's what it's supposed to smell like."

Weiss: "I heard students from other kingdoms are set to be arriving today. So it's my duty to welcome them to this marvelous kingdom."

Blake: "That or you just wanna spy on them so you can beat them in the tournament."

Weiss: "You have no proof of that."

Ruby: "What's going on there?"

We look to see a store that's been robbed.

Yang: "What happened?"

Detective: "Dust robbery. This place's turning into a mad house. Who in the name of Oum needs that much dust?"

Detective2: "I'm thinking it was the White Fang."

Detective: "You ain't getting paid to think."

Weiss: "The White Fang. What terrible riff raff."

Blake: "What's with you?"

Weiss: "I could just simply care less for the criminally insane."

Blake: "The White Fang are just a collection of misguided Faunus."

Weiss: "They want humans extinct."

Blake: "Then they're very misguided. That still doesn't explain why they'd rob a store in the middle of a kingdom."

Ruby: "Blake's right. For all we know it was Roman who's still on the lose."

Weiss: "Either way, it won't change how I feel about the White Fang.

Man: "Stop him!"

We look back to see a boy running away from some cops.

Yang: "There goes one of your students."

Weiss: "We must study him!"

I roll my eyes before running with them after the boy. When we round a corner we see Weiss on the ground.

Neo: "Hello."

Girl: "Hi."

Yang: "You wanna get up?"

She nods flipping to her feet.

Penny: "My name's Penny."

Ruby: "Ruby. And these are my teammates Weiss, Blake, Yang and Neo."

Penny: "Pleasure to meet you all."

Weiss: "Right. Well sorry for running into you but we must be going."

Ruby "See ya later friend."

We begin walking away. But somehow Penny gets ahead of us.

Penny: "What'd you call me?"

Ruby: "Friend."

Penny: "Am I truly your friend?"

She looks at us. The others nod no while I shake my head yes.

Ruby: "Yes."

Penny's eyes sparkle as she hoists Ruby into the air in a hug.

Penny: "Sensational! I've always wanted a friend. I can't wait to do everything us normal girls do."
