3rd POV

Zeke: "What the hell!?! I shot you!!!"

Y/N: "And you failed."

Zeke attempts a right hook but has it caught by Y/N. Gripping tighter he's swung into the living room smashing back first into the tv.

Rebecca: "Who the hell are you!?!"

Y/N: "A man."

Rebecca: "What're you doing in my house!?!"

Y/N: "Yours and your husband's name are on my card."

Rebecca: "Get the hell out!!!"

Y/N: "Not until my job is complete."

Rebecca rushes in but Y/N appears in front of her hoisting her into the air by her throat.

Y/N: "Listen lady. I'm normally not one for killing. But I will if the situation calls for it. And right now I could kill you for killing me. But I was asked not to cause too much trouble. So your life's in your hands. You gonna step down? Or you gonna make me kill you and your husband?"

Rebecca: "Got to hell."

Y/N: "Been there, didn't like it."

He slams his forearm into her neck knocking her out. Y/N turns to the girl when screaming is heard.

Zeke: "Bastard!!"

He rushes forward. Y/N however withdraws one of his daggers. It shifts into a gun that Y/N aims at Zeke. He pulls the trigger launching a small bean bag between Zeke's eyes.

Y/N: "They never learn."

Twirling his weapon away he walks to the girls who's been watching everything that happened.

Y/N: "Now it's just us."

She remains silent.

Y/N: "They never treated you right, did they?"

She shakes her head. Y/N kneels to her level.

Y/N: "You wanna escape?"

She nods her head in enthusiasm.

Y/N: *holds out hand* "Then let's get going."

Without hesitation she grabs his hand as they begin walking out of the house. They then pass by Zeke who opens his eyes.

Zeke: "You won't take her asshole."

Y/N: "You're resilient. I like that."

He fires another bean bag fully knocking out Zeke.

Y/N: *holsters weapon* "Come on kid."

After leaving the house Y/N throws his coat over the girl to keep her dry. Reaching the bar he sets her down before walking to an older man sitting in a corner table.

Y/N: "Evening Jason."

Jason: "Y/N. I take it the job was successful?"

Y/N: "Yes. And there aren't any bodies this time."

Jason: "That's a first."

Y/N: "Oh shut up old man."

Jason laughs before setting a bag overflowing  with Lien on the table.

Jason: "Here's your pay. And there's double in there, consider it a reward for no bodies."

Y/N: "I could always go back and kill them."

Jason: "Sometimes I can't tell when you're being serious."

Y/N: "After all these years I thought you could read me like a book old man."

Jason: "Please, we all know who the real old man is."

Y/N: "You better watch it, or it'll be your name on my next card."

Jason: "The same could be said of you."

Y/N: "You know it'd take a miracle from Oum to kill me."

Json: "Never took you for the religious type."

Y/N rolls his eyes as Jason chuckles. He then looks at the girl Y/N picked.

Jason: "So what're you gonna do about her?"

Y/N: "I don't know. Her parents were shit so can't take her back. I heard there's a nice orphanage in Vale, might take her there. But then again, might not."

Jason: "You know she'd make a great traveling companion."

Y/N: "What're you saying?"

Jason: "Just that when a man's been on the road for as long as you, his mind starts to wonder. Might help to have someone to talk to."

Y/N: "Trust me Jason, my mind's wondered a long time ago. Take care."

He takes a seat next to the girl who's munching on a plate of cookies.

Y/N: "So, you got any other family?"

She nods her head.

Y/N: "Friends?"

Again she shakes her head.

Y/N: "You don't talk much do you?"

She nods a third time.

Y/N: "You at least got a name?"

The girl pulls down a piece of her clothes to reveal a poorly stitched in name.

Y/N: "Neo. Well nice to meet you Neo. I'm Y/N L/N."

He holds out his hand. Hesitant she grabs it as they shake.

Y/N: "Since you ain't got nowhere else to go, would you like to hit the road with me? Kinda see the world?"

She thinks on it. She then shakes her head giving him a resounding yes.

Y/N: "Then welcome to the life of a traveler."
