Lost Father

On The Road Again

Y/N POV

We enter the town to see it far worse up close. I look through various buildings when I spot a man slumped against the wall.

Y/N: "Over here!"

They join me as I kneel next to him.

Y/N: "What the heck happened here?"

Man: "It was... a single woman."

Nora: "What?"

Jaune: "A single woman did all this?"

Man: "Yeah. She came in the night... started killing people left and right. She was so fast... we couldn't get... a single hit on her."

Y/N: "What did she look like?"

Man: "Didn't get... a good look... too much mayhem."

Everyone but me huddle in a circle.

Y/N: "This woman, did she have one of these on her?"

I reach under my shirt withdrawing my dog tags.

Man: "Maybe. Like I said... there was too much... going on."

I sigh putting my dog tags back.

Man: "Whatever that woman was.. wasn't human. If you ask me... she was the devil."

He lets out a long exhale as he passes on. We leave the destroyed town and spend the night at the inn in the next town. From there we continue on our journey. 

Nora: "New day full of new possibilities."

Ruby: "What're we doing today?"

Y/N: "Walking."

Nora: "With a side of?"

Ren: "More walking."

Ruby: "I never thought getting to Haven would take this long."

Y/N: "Just how long did you think it'd take?"

Ruby: "Two and a half weeks?"

Neo: "Not even if we run."

Ruby: "Fine three. That's besides the point."

She then points.

Ruby: "What's that?"

We look to see some buildings.

Jaune: *looks at map* "Strange, there doesn't seem to be a town here."

Y/N: "Let's check it out."

We walk into the unmarked town. There we discover that it's practically a ghost town.

Neo: "Creepy."

We look around. Only a few seconds in we hear Nora shout.

Nora: "I found something."

We walk to her. She moves some brush to the side.

Ruby: "Never heard of Oniyuri."

Y/N: "I have."

Ren: "You have?"

Y/N: "Yeah. Long ago it was decided that the richer citizens would pool their resources to build this place. They had hopes that it'd turn into its own kingdom run by its own set of laws and rules. Maybe believed it'd achieve this."

Ruby: "What went wrong?"

Neo: "The same thing that always goes wrong."

Nora: "Grimm."

Jaune: "Let's get out of here, this place's creepy."

We begin walking away. But as we do my body tenses up.

Neo: "You okay?"

I withdraw my pistol and fire behind me. All I see is brown lightning strike the bullet sending it way off course. The lightning then appears in front of me. Something sharp slices up my chest sending me back. I stop myself to see the attacker. 

They are a woman. In terms of appearance she has dark almost tanned skin with brown almost black hair. Her eyes are also dark, if I had to guess she has hazel colored eyes. For weapons she has simple gloves with three and a half inch long spikes on the knuckles.

I use my ability to get close slamming my daggers onto her. She however crosses her arms using her spikes to hold my blades in place. I struggle to break free when lighting coats her arm and she sucker punches my jaw. I'm sent into a wall which she pins me to.

Y/N: "Who are you?"

She lowers her shirt revealing the top of her left boob. From there I see an animal brand.

Layla: "Layla Moon. Tiger."

Y/N: "Damn gifted. Why're you here?"

Layla: "I was sent by my master to kill you."

Y/N: "Why?"

Layla: "Because there can't be two alphas."

She slams her spikes into my side. I gasp as she grabs my jaw and tosses me away. I slide to a stop. Acting quick I hold my daggers catching her spikes. Not giving up she grabs my shirt smiling. Then disappearing as lightning she zips around the battle field slamming me into various buildings.
